I'm sorry to derail this thread a bit... Gusoyama, your avatar is interesting, I'm just curious. What is Takanohana doing? Is that a kind of ritual?
-
Hmmm I haven't seen any noticeable unusual baldness or pattern on heads of any rikishi, except maybe Hakurozan. He must be a monster at tachai with that great impact coverage area on his head then... ;-) (Whistling...)

Is Asashoryu a dirty cheat deserving of poetic justice?

wow, nice post Paolo You made me reconsider my point of view of him for a sec. ;-) you owe me a keyboard -
1. Homasho ;-) 2. Kisenosato (c'mon, make up your mind...) 3. Tochiozan (dark horse)
-
or "MINE WAS BETTER" I think too, but couldn't help ;-) thanks for reading between the lines

arrrr... how much that pusher-thruster punk gave you for your cheap shot???
-
Correction, Hakuho. IMO Hakuho changed his tactic after seeing Asashoryu had utilized a henka.
-
Hakuho might have lost your vote, but he got one in return... err by cough Chiyotaikai cough (Dripping sweat...) No excuse, a loss is a loss, remember? Don't you worry, there's still plenty left in Shoryu's tank to his road to 100 yusho...

I see, so it depends on the circumstances in which it being used... You're talking about the one he pulled off against Kisenasato, right? (Holiday feeling...) I thought that was a pretty damn good technique, which requires a precise move and coordination that a few could execute it.
-
Is a pulldown considered a cheap victory as a henka? Any other techniques that could fall into the same category?
-
LMAO... neither would I. I can't wait to see him start working on damage control.
-
no, thanks to you Kotooshu vs.Toyonoshima - wow...(Showing respect...)

I can try to interpret Mongolian names only, have no idea meanings of Tibetan names. Hakuho - Last: MunkhBat (EternalSolid) First: DavaaJargal (......Happiness or Joy) The first part of his First Name is Tibetan, the second is Mongolian. Tokitenku - Last: AltanGadas (GoldStake) First: KhuchitBaatar (StrongHero) The rest of rikishis have Tibetan Last & First names I think.

Good to know, so how would one get promoted to yokozuna by that criteria?
-
(I am not worthy...) Go for it Peterao, what would you lose except your pride & Asa's 99th career yusho poster on your wall. Perhaps being a sole yokozuna says it all, his dominant. There would have been more yokozunas in Kiao, Tochizuma..e.g, if he let them in.

thank you for the link, (Laughing...) -
I appreciate your advise for the new posters. Do you think some lurkers ..err new posters (guess including me) have a time to dig out old archives if a certain subject was discussed over a hundred times? When people no longer want to talk about a subject, then threads will die just as quickly as they start. Until such time as people are no longer interested in talking about it, why not... let them go, unless you're a mod. And who gives a $%&* when someone asks "are you new to this board???".
-
Kaio, I guess.
-
Wow (Happy goodbyes...) what a great rikishi he was. :-( thank you for the links. Do you have for Taiho??? hmmm... I didn't know Asashoryu was the strongest of all current rikishi, unless my eyes were cheated by some spell... :-)
-
LMAO, can't wait your third update...
