Who is going to become Sumo Gaming World Champion?
Kaito replied to Randomitsuki's topic in Sumo Games
Thanks, Rando! Hard to believe this is the year I got it done. I was nowhere 2 basho ago. I wanted to fast forward to next year so I could try again. I didn't feel any pressure towards the end, because I never really believed I would win. Even now, my score's a good bit lower than the last 2 years. It looks like this is easily the lowest winning score ever, despite 2020 only having 5 basho. Maybe there are more quality competitors at the top than ever? It'll be interesting to see if the trend continues. Wheeeee! -
Count me among those who are playing.

Well, I've had a good day, gaining small amounts in Bench, TTT, Quad, Juryo Game, and Tippspiel, but I see Flohru won Oracle and scored a Toto win at least, so I should probably not get too hopeful. I was hoping to knick the extra 3 points in Odd, but Wakamotoharu lost it for me, and it turned out the leader, glacier, defended himself well anyway, hitting a small bet that would have kept him ahead. In the end, I'm just lucky nobody passed me. I've just noticed how unlucky I've been in Quad though. I tied for 2nd for number of winning rikishi picked, one behind the yusho winner. But placed in a big tie for 9th overall. -

It would've been nice to score some points in Bench, but it seems 3rd in MCP is only good for a 5-5 record these days. -

Yeah, everything went wrong yesterday. I'm throwing hard in TTT and Quad, and found a way to lose from a strong position in Sumo Game. Could've won that and Bench in the end if Kotozakura hadn't escaped defeat by yanking Takanosho out by the hair. My mood's still spoiled over these "fun" sumo predictions, despite another flawless day of betting the NFL yesterday. -

I'm really starting to regret phoning it in on GTB this time. I had changes in mind that would've put me in the middle of the top 10, but I was too lazy to resubmit. I've got a lot of games going poorly this time, but I'm still hanging around in enough to have some hope, which is more than I expected at this stage. Even 2nd would be appreciated. -
Boooo. I saw a training session with Asanoyama just before the deadline and took a win away from him in Oracle. I wish I'd remembered in time that I had a wishy-washy Asanoyama pick in Chain Gang as well.

Pretty stoked overall, but I just realized Ura losing to Hakuoho on the final day, cost me a lot of points across all the games. I think more than 20. TTT was unfortunate too. It felt the yusho was right there in front of me for the whole 2nd half but I couldn't manage a single win, and of course Panic ended up pulling away, winning with unique picks over and over. Still, I had plenty go my way. Really happy to check ISP and Tippspiel yusho off my list. I've been horrific at Tippspiel for years, but I've been on a hot streak there lately. I've had a surprising amount of chances to yusho ISP before, but I've always needed to pick the underdog on the last day, and it's never hit. With so many players, you never know when you'll get another chance.

In it to win it.

Shouldn't this be graded as Yes?

Everybody wants to go to London.

Lost a 40+ point Odd Sumo payout on Nishikigi's Isamiashi today. Of course, I've had 2 other 40+ point bets lose on the last leg this basho, but it's been that way all year. And it's crazy...I mostly pick 3 underdog rikishi, but I've only lost all legs of a bet once this year, back in March. Instead of winning all legs some days and losing all legs other days, it's been a constant mismatch of results.

Bench: 4 Onosato 3 Kotozakura 3 Ura 2 Mitakeumi 2 Aonishiki Tobizaru Kusano Wakatakakage Fujinokawa Daieisho TTT: Meisei to win, Hiradoumi to lose I'll just take the losses on the rest.

Oh, I was 45th out of 87 in the first place.
-
I thought the drone would slot in behind me and make me 44th out of 88 instead of 44th out of 87?
-
Whoa, this personally affects me. Hey, let's get this drone fixed and applied retroactively, stat!
-
Day 5 bug in Bench again, of course.

There's a mistake with the 3rd matchup. You accidentally named Wakatakakage as Wakamotoharu. I'll just answer as if you wrote Wakatakakage. It's easy to understand what you intended, so I think it's okay to keep the question as long as you fix it quickly, but I'll leave that decision up to you!

In for a good time.

I can't understand how I didn't get Tippspiel picks in yesterday. And it had to happen on the only day I didn't watch live. Otherwise, I probably would've pulled up my picks before makuuchi started and realized they inexplicably weren't there. I would've scored 13 points and been tied for 3rd overall. Now I'm just out. Buncha world championship points down the drain.

I'm confused. Doesn't Oho make the answer Yes?
-
I'll share my interpretation. It's saying we'll reach a state where nobody remains undefeated in Juryo, THEN one where nobody remains undefeated in the Maegashira ranks, followed by one where nobody in the sanyaku ranks remains undefeated. If more than one such condition is reached on the same day, the order of the matches will determine which happens first.

Invitation to Play GTB - July 2025 - 334 entries. RESULTS!!
Kaito replied to Kintamayama's topic in Sumo Games
Like you need a bright side. If I had 56 on this banzuke, I'd be amped up, pumping my fist, clapping loudly, yelling "let's go!" -
Hmm, I hate that. It's too hard to get demoted from Juryo.
