As I have said: Woller is an avid fan of Bayern and argues just like you (or me) when it comes to the great and undisputed financial performance of Bayern since the Honess era. It is stricly about the period before that in the 60s and 70s and of course his book does not rely on Müller's memory (in fact, he didn't interview him at all), but offers clear archival evidence that Bayern paid its young talented players with black money and systematically evaded taxes (with the approval of the Bavarian authorities). The club has never denied any of it and obviously all of that has long since exceeded the legal time limit, so no reason for excitement. As for Aschenbrenner: It was pretty funny indeed, I was there during that talk and everyone had a laugh about it later, including Aschenbrenner himself. The local paper kind of scandalized it later, but the narrative and evidence of the book clearly is not affected by the fact that Woller did not speak to one friend of Müller because he thought him dead.

I fully agree regarding your take on 50+1, but you may want to read this book: https://www.chbeck.de/woller-gerd-mueller/product/27786451 It is a biography of Gerd Müller by an avid Bayern fan in the first place, but the book also traces how Bayern rose to the top of the Bundesliga and Europe in the late 60s and 70s, even though they were close to bankrupt all the time. Hint: Loads of dirty money involved! ;)

Hah, for some reason I mixed up Takerufuji and Takarafuji in the selection process. But, I think, I would have lost to Athenayama on the fourth tie-breaker anyway, so congratulations on a well-deserved yusho and thanks, Wakatake, for providing that game!
