sorry for them...

You seem to be pretty capable of posting for somebody who is "banned".

It's funny, I was just about to post in your yaocho thread that it was probably going to be just a matter of time until the thread gets closed, after you started veering into kooky "you're all fanboys who refuse to acknowledge my obvious and superior wisdom" territory, but one of the mods beat me by a minute or two. (In a state of confusion...)

Bottom line: Please don't come across as a ranting zealot, and you'll find this forum to be quite comfortable.

Now, what "banned by the NSK" means, I have no idea...are they not letting you into the Kokugikan?

Thats too bad bro, this site is despirately in need of a couple more people like you who are willing to "push around" the all too common "status quo" of posts and post-ers around here, best of luck to ya bro.

Serv,

Too bad that you're banned.

I don't know about NSK.

But, I hope Sumoforum will let you in after you cool down little bit.

I wish you "stereotyped" less. (Maybe read books sometimes? (In a state of confusion...) )

First of all, since he is posting this himself, he probably only got a warning. The earlier thread that caused all this is locked though.

And since this IS a discussion forum, it is only to be expected that people will disagree with each other, and have different opinions, especially on controversial topics.

But that is no excuse for being rude, insulting others, and dismissing other ideas than your own.

Without at least a veneer of politeness, any discussion board will degrade into a flamefest.

The point of having a discussion is to exchange of ideas, not to 'win'

You were not banned but will soon be if you open these egoistic threads in Honbasho talk. Are you looking for moral support? "I am banned by NSK and sumoforum, please write on my thread so I can read about myself and get support!!" :'-( :'-( Already lost Kintamayama due to tolerance of all sorts of members so probably better to tighten the grip and use more harsh treatment on new members as well as old members when needed.

If someone claims controversial topics or heated debates are easily blocked here, that someone can get lost and find new places to express themselves. Such annoying misconception is that.

Why is this thread in Honbasho Talk...why is this even a thread at all? If you started the thread, then you are not banned...so this is kinda pointless.

Not that I am complaining against any administrator's decision, but this sounds like I should be afraid and extra careful when post, just because I am a new member?

Old members should be punished when it is needed, and the new ones - on "general basis"?

Or am I interpreting something wrong?

Please explain the word "lost". Does that mean the Compulsive Editor is no longer part of this group? Has he been suspended or something? I know that he has been outspoken recently but I certainly did not feel offended by anything he said. He has so much to offer the group. I hope he's still with us. (Holiday feeling...) :-(

It looks to me as if Rijicho means to use more harsh treatment on new AND old members, all alike, when such is needed. So, I don't think you need to worry more because you are new.

No worries really. Just won't tolerate so much as before. Many people have said I tolerate too much. Moderators tolerate less actually and close topics even if I wouldn't. Kintamayama is not suspended...he self-suspended himself and is adamant never to return. I have used various tactics to turn his head but to no avail. Pleaded to his poise, arrogance and whatnot. Tried to play the guilt-card by saying he is punishing a massive amount of members who had nothing to do with the "baboons" who caused his irritation level skyrocket but he remains adamant and threathens to open up his own sumoforum even! Kintamayma was the biggest asset on the forum with his extremely entertaining posts and valuable informative posts. Nobody else has conrtibuted so much. It is very sad he has gone but life is life as usual. Maybe he comes back with vengeance.

As a recent member here, I surely can't speak in the name of this forum's adminitrators and moderators, but after many years of administration of various forums (much bigger than sumo related ones) I would suggest you read rijicho's answer like this:

... so probably better to tighten the grip and use more harsh treatment on [new members] as well as [old members] when needed.

Same treatment for everyone.

Yes, your are interpreting badly, unless you do the same as serv.

To understand more:

Just consider serv's 28 very interesting posts in 3 different topics:

- 1 topic that drove to the end of sumo videos online

- 1 topic blocked where he just made really stupid assessments on asash

I really hope he'll reconsider his words and return. I miss his input very much.

Info-sumo - this decision was reached by yourself after serv had repeated your actions of taking (read: stealing) the images of sumo without permission. To that end, your pride and probable desire to be the only man doing this (thereby securing the admiration of your peers) led to the end of such vids. If you feel wronged by serv, why not inform the NSK of his actions? :-)

serv hasn't been the best new member and for those critical of the Rijicho's MO and way of thinking I would just remind you that the Sumo Forum will still be the Sumo Forum with or without many of its members. If I come into your house iwill respect your way of doing things.

If Kintamayama has departed these shores it is a loss but he would be the first to admit life goes on. Yubi / Yoav and a few others have essentially vanished over the past couple of years so whichever course he / they take(s) I would wish them well and thank them all for whatever they contributed in the past rather than sitting here in self pittying mode hoping they'll come back.

my 'kill file' a.k.a ignore user function is starting to fill up with more and more forum clowns.

while I do enjoy a good discussion I do not as the old cliche goes - suffer fools gladly

We have a psychanalyst here. Waouhhh!!! Yokozuna psychanalist. First time for me. Bravo!!!

As a "yokozuna", to me you don't seem to have the right level though..

probable desire...

thereby securing the admiration of your peers

You're a pro! Bravo yokozuna ! You got it all ! amazing !

To people who have no big head:

I am not supposed to record the japan Tv as it's forbidden. I am not suppose to make sumo clips and I am not in a mood of loosing time for assholes. So consider that you will get sumo movies in another ways: just register for Japan Satellite TV, or watch the NHK streaming. And surely don't try to get movies from me!

Life goes on! it will be without me here as the asshole 's group looks quite wide on this forum!

Hello guys,

I'm sorry for making you guys argue over all these bullshits.

I've been busy last few days and couldn't check the sumoforum.net.

I won't say anything, won't talk about the things the Admins and Moderators think bullshit.

You Moderators can delete all the topics I've opened in Sumoforum.net. I'm cool with it.

And I stay around to entertain you guys sometimes.

Have a good one,

serv.

p.s. a french admin from info-sumo.net is making racist points against me? i'm just a Mongolian fan, who doesn't care about illegally compailed Sumo vidoes on some french webpages. and i'm sure i know about a Mongolian sumo wrestler better than an old-fat-french-fry who thinks he's Yokozuna in his small frenchie 4 walls. let's share the sumo with the World. i love sharing the illegal stuff with other... hahaha.

I get the point but there are different circumstances.

Example:

Man and woman are married. Man has no spine and treats woman badly and takes her for granted. Woman gets fed up and leaves the man. Man's pathetic ego doesn't take that well and he doesn't want the woman to leave so makes pleas, threatens her and wants to keep her at all costs. No good. Man with no kintama might even say "I have a gun! Remember that! You can't leave me!".

That is not a good example actually. Better is when man and woman are married and it doesn't go that well anymore, no connection, soul disharmony, no "ki ga au", withering relationship. The way the other ones holds the fork annoys. Woman leaves. No self pity for the man. New life ahead. Same for woman. Such is life.

Then another example is when man and woman are married and man's mother is a bad mother-in-law with bad personality, arrogance, jealously and so on. She drives the woman crazy and causes the woman to leave the man because of his mother. At this point the man (should have noticed earlier though) can do whatever he can in order to persuade the woman to stay if the only reason is the mother-in-law (she must not interfere anymore!). We have to assume now that the man was totally unaware of his mother's behaviour and the woman was not willing to let her husband know how badly his mother treats her. Anyways...the point is that Kintamayama left because of bad mother-in-law, not because of the man (forum). Actually this example is very good because as in the case of the woman in the example, Kintamayama probably has a component of general fatique towards the forum for whatever reasons. Just like no woman would leave their man just because of evil mother-in-law if things are well otherwise. Kintamayama wouldn't have left though if there weren't forum baboons.

I know Kintamayama better than probably 99% of the sumoforum members so of course I try to get him back. He is a key player and just anquished by mother-in-law ie. forum baboons. He is no saint either and could have dealt with the latest turmoil on forum better but still he is the main man on forum and very valuable. Self-pitying has nothing to do with this. I just regret the inevitable decrease in quality on forum if he leaves for good.

It can be though that Kintamayama's departure was imminent even without the baboon factor and that just pushed him off the edge. Yet the bastard posts on ML even though he strongly favoured sumoforum until now...there lies a seed of bitterness even in my godly administrative zone of sainthood thingie!!!! Mission Kintamayama will continue at least as long as there is a difference of views between the most fundamental Hizbollah individual and ultraorthodox Jew with a fancy beard Kokkai would be proud of.

I am sorry that I have been pretty busy with other stuff, I missed the happening with Moti. Ever since I have been around in these shores, he has been always around. As a matter of fact he was instrumental in bringing me here. Unfortunately I never met him personally but we go back years together. I'd never have been as active without him being around.

In some ways he is more Japanese than Japanese, truly decrying the deterioriation of Sumo traditions and customs. I am sure he was starting to feel like he has become a lone wolf. And I do feel his pain as I too have become somewhat disillusioned by the rollerderby mentality of some participants here. I always supported a view of certain YDC member who kept pointing out bad manners and etiquettes of certain rikishis while others consider her opinion to be just nitpicking.

When we had Konishiki, Akebono and Musashimaru, we had lot of fans from the U.S. and the number is much less as they departed from active scene. Those remained are truly sumo fans who are the students of the sport. I am sure that too will happen with Mongolians and Europeans as the Kyokai will be now very reluctant to increase the current one foreign rikishi per heya though I feel that is somewhat unfortunate but understandable.

Regardless of how great rikishis are, they are not bigger than Ozumo. Some may view Ozumo as a sport but it isn't simply that. It is seeped in Japanese Shinto religion traditions. Sekitoris especially Ozekis and Yokozuna go to well known Shinto Shrines several times a year to make an offering. Many of the moves rikishis learn are actually stemmed from Shinto. When a rikishi joins a heya, it is just like joining a religious order - in Japanese litereally 入門 (entering the gate).

As in a religious order, those who destroy the fabrics of the foundation should be expelled permanently as it has happened previously many times. I won't discuss the penalty received by Roho was just or not but suffice to say, he came very close.

I notice that there are certain fundamental differences between us and Japanese blogs/discussion sites. We tend to dwell on what's so obvious and not sublime. For instance we go on forever about the merits of henka while Japanese fans let it go quickly. While reading many sumo blogs in Japanese, they talk more about techniques or those upcoming rikishis and what they are doing to progress so rapidly like Kaikitsune often does here. Come to think of it, he used to do a superb detailed apres-basho analysis which I miss dearly. I think the traps many new fans get into are their exclusive fascination over rikishi's personality and focus solely on them. So whenever someone makes a critique of them, they will go bombastic trying to defend their hero and the thread rambles on till it reaches a sewer.

I know I will need to shoulder a blame for Kintamayama's leaving but I will try to do my best to bring him back here but sometimes everyone needs a break or two like I did travelling around England during most of this basho. As some smart person writes, Sumo is a Good Thing but so is Life.

And to Kinta,

Be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars;

you have a right to be here.
