What is your chess skill anyway ?

I have seen remarks about chess (Fisher, ratings ...) again and again and i wonder (i never thought about that), if there is a connection between sumo and chess.

So what is your skill ?

I spend most of my time on the internet here or playing chess on 'Its your turn' where I have 6 games going right now.

I would say I'm just above the Median.

Im not good at chess, but im a first dan at Go (or Igo in Japan), which is equivalent to a regular club player (actual go rating in Europe is 2030, which is a bit out of date, my last tournament was a year ago)

Somebody told me how to play, but I suck at this and so I can't like it (In a state of confusion...) I am made for arts, but logic game- nonono (In a state of confusion...)

Your poll choices are pretty much adequate except for the club player (1300-2000) category. This would deserve at least two subcategories, as 1300-2000 is a madly broad range. Practically 98% (or more) of all actual chess players are here; and tell someone to play professionally with a 2050 level, and you both will fall under the table ROTFL...

Well, I used to be a "club level player" at 1900 long ago, so my poll choice was pretty clear.

Around 10 years ago, I used to be a regular club player and had a rating around 1800 (class A).

I dont play much since moving to Asia.

Difficult for me to answer, as I can play, but usually don't. However, I wouldn't say I have no skill at it. It's just that I prefer to play other games like Mah-jong, bridge (over the internet) etc, which tend to have more players (more social), with an element of luck.... (In a state of confusion...)

I have some chess skill, I guess that I am an ok player, I was in the chess club when I was in sixth grade...which was like 9 years ago. But I do enjoy a good game every now and then.

You know it would be interesting to see harite in a chess match. Some niramiai has been done even at world champion matches but I guess no harite or neko-damashi.

Ive never played the game.It looks pretty complicated.

"Complicated" seems to be a fitting attribute for a game with no luck and no hidden information involved when even highly sophisticated computer programs have trouble beating humans. And so is Go if my information is correct.
