Guest Napravit Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Hi everyone! I'm new in this forum and I would like to ask some question if someone want to answer. I'm from Sweden and playing american football, wich is very similiar to Sumo Wrestling in starting position, explosion and attacking. Now to the question, How does Sumo Wrestlers train in practice? Is there any typical exercise in explosion, punching, speed, power..? Would like to improve myself in a similiar sport in many ways. My best regards!

Tetsuzukiyama Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Oh thanks to both of you, will check those out now! We usually talk about this stuff in the Ama-Sumo section. I had similar questions a while back and the Health Exercises and Shiroikuma videos are the cornerstones. There are lots of things to learn from watching Keiko morning practice videos too.

Guest Napravit Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Thanks! Are there any speciall exercises they do in the Gym? That are very typical for Sumo Wrestlers. Explosions and Balance?

Tetsuzukiyama Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 oh, as I said, I'm new here and I really didn't know where to post this question, sorry for that :) Oops, not what I meant. If you're looking for similar topics, you'll have better luck finding them in the Ama-sumo forum rather than the Ozumo one.
