It would have to be Naranjito followed closely by Footix. Naranjito was the mascot for the first World Cup I watched (aged 7 or 8, and because NZ qualified for the World Cup!!). I remember that I had a comic book that was about how Naranjito and his mates saved the World Cup finals from some evil people who wanted to disrupt the Finals with a bomb. Very cool at the time!

Pique, 'cause I got him in a Kinder egg when I was li'l (and he's well designed, too). I hate football otherwise, and wish I was on a desert island somewhere with no TV and football fans. (Sigh...)

How about a poll? My vote would be Tip & Tap, because I had them on a keyring when I was even li'ler than Manekineko. (didn't even know what the World Cup was back then... (I am not worthy...) )

Why not.

Good ol' Striker. The dumbest looking mascot around--perfect for us Americans.

I remember taking my kids to the Rose Bowl for the USA-Colombia game which US won on an own goal. The poor defender, Andres Escobar, was shot to death back in Colombia a few months later. The chant of "USA, USA" resounded all over Pasadena that day. Another vivid memory was all the naranja Carlos Valderrama wigs in the crowd. What a day!

We were able to go to another game and that was a memorable one, too. Rumania with Gheorghe Hagi upset one of the pre-tournament favorites Argentina in the round of 16. The Argentines were missing their star, Diego Maradona, who was suspended for failing a drug test. Darn, he was the one guy everyone wanted to see!

Those were the haydays of US soccer and Bora Milutinovic was the savior. I remember running into him at a soccer conference where he was peddling some tactical software. In a quiet moment away from the crowd, he did talk about what an exciting two weeks that was in the summer of '94!

I voted Ciao because its the only one I remember but I'm with Manekineko lets put the football on a desert Island though and provide boats for those who want to watch it. (Applauding...)

(I am not worthy...) Love the avatar Manekineko but it should be David Tennant.

Well, the Ninth Doctor was the one that made me rediscover the series, so... If anything, I'd have put the Fourth one, (I've watched when I was li'l, you know (Eek...) )

Sorry for the disturbance in the thread. (In love...)
