Flying_Monkey Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Some of you seem to think Baruto should win unless something goes wrong. Sure, he's a big guy and he's strong and talented, but he's still got a lot to learn when fighting at this level. Just be patient, and expect him to lose a few. That's the only way he'll improve and become the great rikishi that he has the potential to be.
roydrager Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 IMO (I only saw the banzuke.com video) the corner of the heel of Baruto's right foot touched the outside clay. Most of his right foot was supported by the tawara but just a little corner dipped down and touched.
yamaneko Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 Yes, that is what the replays seem to show what happened. Even the side judge said he saw it. But baruto still claims that he didnt touch out. Personally i dont know how you can know in such a heated battle if your heal touches out for a split second or not, when i do sumo my adrenaline is going so much i dont even remember 50% of my bout. But, i dont have a problem with him "pouting" about it...as i said ihope it inspires him to go undefeated the rest of the way. >B-)
Kishinoyama Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Some of you seem to think Baruto should win unless something goes wrong.Of course but something did go wrong... he stepped out B-).
Gacktoh Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 The replay booth was never consulted, since there was no mono-ii. The left shimpan on the muko-shomen side raised his hand when Baruto's foot went out, indicating the match was over, before Baruto tried his utchari. The other shimpan saw the foot go out as well, so they didn't call a mono-ii. Yes! Before Ucchari.
