Mark Buckton Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 (edited) I know we have had at least 3 SF members visit Japan already this year. A few came last and more are lined up for Natsu and beyond - inc of course the publicly stated aderechelsea and ilovesumo but who else is coming out this way or plans to in the coming months for some: (Dohyo-iri...) (A yokozuna...) (Gyoji...) :-) ? Edited April 8, 2006 by Adachinoryu
Sasanishiki Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Well, there should be a few coming for the World Champs as well. I'm hoping to be in Osaka and I suspect that Johnofuji and Wanchanyama will try as well. Kenzo most likely will be there, and so will ShiroiKuma if he doesn't break a bone again. Confirmation? And any others?
Andreas Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I just started my year as exchange student in Tokyo, and Im pretty sure that I will be able to visit at least one of the Tokyo bashos. It will be the first time for me to watch sumo without a screen. :-)
aderechelsea Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 now it would be a pity if we don't meet and have a beer ... wouldn't it ? i know that Mark owes me one from last year when we made a bet on our football teams and i am sure he will honour his word .... :-) John also promised that we'll go get drunk together ... anyone else?
Fay Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I'll be there at least for the May Basho and I hope also for the September Basho, or perhaps I give a present to my birthday in November and will go to Kyusho (or to Papua Newguinea, although sumo isn't so popular there, perhaps I should check it. (A yokozuna...) ) I once decided to see every country on this earth but in the moment I only seem to see Tokyo :-) . Perhaps I should make a sidestep to Mongolia.
ilovesumo Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I once decided to see every country on this earth but in the moment I only seem to see Tokyo :-) . Perhaps I should make a sidestep to Mongolia. I wish I would have THAT problem (A yokozuna...)
Murasakiayame Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I'll be in Tokyo for one day of the May basho and then I'll be off to the theater.

Cammy Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 (edited) Hey I will come to a basho... I would get drunk with you aderechelsea...as soon as some one pays for my airplane ticket... (Neener, neener...) Edited April 11, 2006 by Cammy

(Neener, neener...)To keep this thread on the utterly pointless side: aderechelsea obviously pays for his ticket by himself, how about that?(I just hope he'll still have enough bucks left to cover for German railway in June...)
Doyobi Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I'm scheduled for a Tokio basho. Maybe I'll make it in time for May, if not then it has to be september. I was planning to see the second week.

(Welcome...) well i hope that i will have enough money to come to Germany also. I already "have" to go to Prague on the 27th of April for 4 days if Panathinaikos qualifies for the Euroleague Final 4 .... (A yokozuna...) i guess by mid-june or early-july i will be broke and will have to save money from scratch .... (Laughing...) no worries ... money are to get spent ... (Neener, neener...)

Well I am a college student, and I have a crappy job, so I don't have a lot of money, plus I paid for my own Bonnaroo music festival ticket, so there went a good amount of my money. But music is one of the most important things in my life, so it was money well spent...I mean 3 days of music...what more could I ask for...other than a trip to Japan, and to get to go to a Basho.
Takanobaka Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I'll be around in September. I know we already have tickets, but I'm not sure for which day. I believe the second Sunday.
Mark Buckton Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 plane tickets? Sumo tickets haven't been printed yet. MB
Doitsuyama Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I'll be around in September. I know we already have tickets, but I'm not sure for which day. I believe the second Sunday. Do you mean Kokugikan tickets? I thought they aren't even on sale yet...
Andreas Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I will be there on senshuraku... will anybody else from this forum come on senshuraku, too? ill probably be sitting in the back rows, the tickets were quite cheap... aquired by the mongolian connection...

Do you mean Kokugikan tickets? I thought they aren't even on sale yet... Tickets reserved rather. My father-in-law's company has a box, and he's reserved the box for that day.
Leonishiki Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I'll be in Tokyo in September, probably for the second week.
