Zingo Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Polls are fun. This one seems to be a relevant one these days.... I think he'll miss, but would be very happy to be proven wrong.. Guess that the "rolling" alternative only includes 12 wins... or can even 11 be "carried on" into july?
Kashunowaka Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Guess that the "rolling" alternative only includes 12 wins... or can even 11 be "carried on" into july? No.
aderechelsea Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 "rolling into July" is not possible. Either he gets a yusho or he is back to square one. Kitanoumi implied so and i will believe him. after all it would be the only fair thing.
aderechelsea Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 btw .... the option "he will get his 13 and get promoted" is not realistic. he needs a YUSHO and 13 wins to get promoted ... ONLY a yusho will get him promoted ....
Asashosakari Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 (edited) btw .... the option "he will get his 13 and get promoted" is not realistic.he needs a YUSHO and 13 wins to get promoted ... ONLY a yusho will get him promoted .... Don't you know better than to take Kitanoumi's pronouncements at face value? (Applauding...) Before Natsu basho is over, we'll get to hear everything from "only a zensho yusho will do it" to "13 wins jun-yusho will be fine" and everything in between. At the very least, I strongly suspect they would revive that whole yusho-equivalent thing if Tochi finishes with a 13-2 playoff loss. Or to say it with Konrad Adenauer... Edit: Personally, I'd be more or less fine with 13-2D leading to promotion...as I've said before, a mere 13-2J wouldn't thrill me too much, though my own position strikes me as a bit hypocritical here. (13 wins is 13 wins.) Anyway, 14-1, 12-3, 13-2, that's still 39 wins over three basho...others have won three consecutive yusho with that kind of performance. Edited March 29, 2006 by Asashosakari
Kishinoyama Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 (edited) The No option... Edited March 29, 2006 by Kishinoyama
ikishima Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 no and option 3 is a not possible the only way he will get a pass onto the next basho is if he is 13-2 and they don't promote him.
