Speaking of injuries. Do you happen to know what kind of injuries our makushitans have gotten last and this basho? Such a bummer, they have the injuries while they were on raise. Any news please.

No. Two didn't start and two injured in the middle is a lot, considering that until now Mongolian rikishi had very few injuries comparatively.

Musashiryu re-injured his knee when he fell off the dohyo last basho and had surgery. According to Musashigawa Blog, he spent a month in the hospital and was released at end of February. Latest reports have him just rehabilitating the knee and not doing keiko. It's a shame for the oft-injured Musashiryu who had gotten back to makushita 10.

Arawashi was up to makushita 20 last basho and was in seemingly good form when he got injured in his second bout. I haven't heard of any details but it was apparent immediately that it was severe.

Daitensho also fell off the dohyo when he beat Takanoyama by yoritaoshi this basho. A report at that time indicated that he hurt either his lower back or a leg since he was walking gingerly back to the dressing room.

Hoshihikari was 2-2 at makushita 24 when he had to take a fusenpai for his scheduled 5th bout. No details available at this time.

Or else make it bigger so that its not so easy to fall off.

I have an amasumo tournament coming up soon, and it will be on an elevated platform like the offical one. Granted there will be pads, but ive never wrestled like that before, and its got me a little worried.
