Flying_Monkey Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 (edited) I mean, who else has demonstrated quite the same guile and skill this tounrnament? Today's bout once again incredibly entertaining as 'Shuzan swept his oppenent's hand repeatedly near the ground whilst maintaining a good enough grip on the mawashi that when Kyokutenho was finally unsettled he was able to drive him out with relative ease. A joy to watch such variation and skill from the veteran, as it has been throughout this basho... (In a state of confusion...) Edited March 24, 2006 by Flying_Monkey

Kintamayama Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 (edited) No!! It is not forward moving Sumo! He has no tachi-ai!! He attempted a blatant henka! He never meets his man head on! Boo! Kyokushuuzan for the Krankenhaus! He is a disgrace to full-frontal Sumo! BWAAAA! Edited March 24, 2006 by Kintamayama

Kintamayama Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Put him into Juryo like Shunketsu (Applauding...) No, he should be forced to play Cricket with Maltese midgets! And if he still doesn't learn, make him read Kaikitsune's articulate, detailed medical posts (the ones with strong sexual overtones, if possible)! That should do the trick.

So it was - I was so excited I got confused! (Blushing...) And whoever was daring to compare a brilliant mercurial rikishi like Kyokushuzan, with such a long record in makuuchi and such a deep and demonstable respect for the sport, to a blob like Shunketsu / Ishide - even as a joke - well, I just don't have the words... madorosumaru Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Shu is the personification of a furu-danuki. The quintessence of veteran guile. A paragon of "out-of-box" thinking. He tweaks the noses of Kyokai mucketymucks every time he steps on the dohyo. He makes an elevator ride as exciting a whirl on a roller-coaster. Bravo, bravo, bravo!!! (Applauding...) ;-) (Blushing...)

Flying_Monkey Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 Must be kidding here... (Applauding...) Why? Isn't all I said correct? I am an advocate of full frontal Sumo!! Aren't we all?? No. Not at all. I've been watching sumo for over 15 years, and I am an admirer of all the various legitimate forms of sumo so long as they are done with panache and dedication. I am also a long-term practitioner of several martial arts and admire technical skills as much as brute force. Sumo would be very tedious if it was all just full-frontal. Kyokushuzan is representative of a very long tradition in sumo of those who rely on skill and cunning.
Asashosakari Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I'm glad to see that Moti's still got it, reputation being AWOL or not. (Applauding...)

However if Kinta wishes to have a slow hand-clap, he may have it... :-P

However if Kinta wishes to have a slow hand-clap, he may have it... :-P Not really.. It's just that I have been one of the "pro-henka" crusade leaders for many years, and this is a small moment of triumph for our ilk. As for sarcasm being the lowest form of wit, I'd rather call it the "henka of wit", as it is never forward moving, yet helps you win in the end. (??)

Kaikitsune Makoto Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Kyokushuzan's problem is that he doesn't take life seriously!! Life and sumo are serious businesses and no room for twinky eye corners, childlish grins after a lost bout and laid back attitude! One must take things seriously and forget about fun and music (except serious music like senior choirs in catholic club). I bet Shuzan doesn't take serious things like hysterectomy, Israel, appropriate toilet behaviour, small talk with conservative priests and paying a mortgage seriously. His sumo reflects a non-serious attitude which must be frowned upon. Besides he sometimes does exaggerated sprints off the dohyo both in winning and losing bouts. At those times he fails to decelerate in serious fashion but keeps running like a joker person. Bad bad bad. Henka!
Flying_Monkey Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 And again...! Excellent bout(s)... I think poetic justice, as it was pretty clear than 'Shuzan had won the first time around. May he continue to enjoy life and sumo as long as possible... (Dribbling...)

Now he wants to run for parliament seat, like we don't have enough jokers already in the room. Isn't it too much for a fun? Please, somebody in touch with him, tell him to do his thing on the dohyo instead of doing on parliament floor.
