sashimaru Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Yes, it was Baruto. And an evil thing like a henka it was.
Blue_Wolf Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 14-1 Y (losing only to Mokonami) In my recalling it was Baruto who took win from Toyonoshima. Mokonami wasn't even sekitori then. I know that. I mean above Baruto will lose to Mokonami, tomorrow.

I'll try to remember to answer to that tomorrow. in case Baruto wins: na na na naaa naaaa.. in case Bauro loses i probably "forget" to answer. ;) NPD
Jejima Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 If I can understand hakkeyoi.net correctly.... There have only been two previous instances of 15-0 Juryo Yushos :-D The last one being in 1963 by Kitanofuji n(who became the 52nd Yokozuna). The other guy to do it (in 1961) was Yutakayama (Uchida), who made it to Ozeki. So *if* he does manage this feat, great things would be expected :-S

There have been 3 instances of 15-0 Juryo yusho. Tochihikari 1955.03 Uchida (Yutakayama) 1961.11 Kitanofuji 1963.11 Juryo yusho 1 Juryo Yusho 2 Edited March 23, 2006 by Yubiquitoyama
Jejima Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 hakkeyoi.net doesn't seem to show Juryo from 1955.... Tochihikari also made it to Ozeki by the way.... :-D
Kishinoyama Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Well, I want to see 15-0 for some sumo history. If it has only happened three times since 1955 then I want to see number four! ;-)
lenc Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Baruto beats Mokonami to go to 13-0 and since Kyokunankai lost to Homasho, Baruto has secured the yusho (In a state of confusion...)
Quiphodge Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 unbelievable!! Baruto just goes up, nobody can`t stop him! And beer is almost mine also... (In a state of confusion...)
yamaneko Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 Crazy. Lets go for zensho! What about baruto for the next yusho from M16! Now, the question is, do they make him dye his hair or not?
aderechelsea Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 negative to both . no yusho from m16 and no hair dying (bintsuke will have to do)
aderechelsea Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 but yes ... zensho yusho this basho is ok ....
Oimeru Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Hakkeyoi Query A 14-1 could well be enough for promotion to Makuuchi already...or maybe even a 13-2? A bit difficult to tell with the lack of precedence. Go Bart!

A bit difficult to tell with the lack of precedence. Go Bart! Try this... Yet another hakkeyoi search seams like Tokitenku did it from J10W with 12?!?!? Was there some other factor at play there? Luck of the banzuke maybe? (Applauding...) Edited March 24, 2006 by Tatsuma Keiru
Asashosakari Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 (edited) A 14-1 could well be enough for promotion to Makuuchi already...or maybe even a 13-2? A bit difficult to tell with the lack of precedence. Go Bart! 14-1 should be pretty well enough, IMO. There isn't a whole lot of competition for the promotion slots at the very top anyway, and the guys further down (Homasho, Kyokunankai) aren't winning enough to outrank a 14-1 record. 13-2 is borderline, but I think it would suffice, given the aforementioned lack of r Edited March 24, 2006 by Asashosakari
aderechelsea Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 and the fact that he will probably go 15-0 ...
Oimeru Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Five sure demotees, four sure promotees, and a close race with Roho: Natsu 2004 There really were no obvious candidates in mid-juryo...banzuke luck, I guess.
Guest NPD Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 and the fact that he will probably go 15-0 ... I'm already wondering why they let big boys into the small boys playground. Kick them outta there and let them deal with real boys. ;). I am really interested to see Baruto fights with Makuuchi guys but I don't mind him staying in Juryo for another Basho to take 3 yushos in a row. Looks like I have lost my bet on beer (My bet 14-2 and opponents bet 15-0). But, hey, 2 days ahead.... NPD
Tatsuma Keiru Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 My bet 14-2 and opponents bet 15-0). If you bet 14-2 you might want to stop drinking... sorry, (Applauding...) just messing with you.

You are correct. I actually proposed 14-1. I'll stop drinking for today (11:59 AM here), but I'll take the last one before the next one. NPD
Blue_Wolf Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Baruto looks so much bigger than Mokonami. Mokonami is not that small.
Dale Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 My bet 14-2 and opponents bet 15-0). If you bet 14-2 you might want to stop drinking... sorry, :-P just messing with you. You are correct. I actually proposed 14-1. I'll stop drinking for today (11:59 AM here), but I'll take the last one before the next one. NPD The sad part is that I didn't even catch the 14-2 thing :) Tonight's Baruto fix is available now at- http://www.banzuke.com/~movies/haru2006/da...to_mokonami.wmv Don't forget to deposit your used needles in the convenient receptacles located at each exit door :) Dale
Kintamayama Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Looks like you've been using the fix yourself, as you seem to see double..
Dale Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Looks like you've been using the fix yourself, as you seem to see double.. Triple, actually. I just deleted the extra two. But I only hit "add reply" once. Odd. Dale
Kintamayama Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Bart's Japanese, as far as I could make out, is pretty good. Pretty good. Accent great, right "feel". Cooool. He even seems to have that "inherent shyness" that is expected of a rikishi..
