AsaMoe Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 After three days from originally around 160 players 120 are still in the yusho race. This comes mostly due to the winning streak of Wakanosato, Hakuho and Baruto (!) I wonder, what will happen, if any one of these three loses. Anyway. Does any one of the older players remember, that a Juryo rikishi was so "successful" in Chaingang ?
Fujisan Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Its the first time I got past day 3 in close to 2 years. And I have done it with a different pick every day,Okay it was the 3 you mentioned but still I'm happy. (Applauding...)
Gernobono Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Its the first time I got past day 3 in close to 2 years. And I have done it with a different pick every day,Okay it was the 3 you mentioned but still I'm happy. (Applauding...) oh man....you are a lucky guy....it takes THAT little to make you happy....i hope you can manage another one or more days in chaingang to keep you smiling the rest of 2006 gernobono, out on day one (Applauding...)
Mattjila Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Aw nuts, I had picked Baruto but now I think he's the kiss of death. Hmm...
Jejima Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 I *think* I must hold the record for the streak of being knocked out on Day 1 - Unintentionally I might add :(
Norizo Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Baruto, hakuho and Wakanosato keep win. Especially Baruto,I can't image his defeat in Juryo. I hope bouts same day. Baruto vs Homasho, Wakanosato vs Tochinonada, Hakuho vs Tochiazuma. Do you select them?
Kintamayama Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I think with Wakanosato and Tochinonada losing already, we will see a decrease of at least a third of the players today. Still day 5..
Tomoe Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 So, it's done...only Hakuho and Baruto survived the day without failure (Holiday feeling...) (good that I did not change my Hakuho pick this day ;-) )
Kintamayama Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 We lost some 44 players today. 53 left, so we lost nearly half.
Mattjila Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 (edited) Well, like my hero Stephen Colbert, I'm here today to award some gen-u-wine balls to myself, Asahi, Kitahayate, Yosouou, Sekihiryu, Big-jordan, and Esuteryu for not picking Bart, Hakuho, or Waka. However, the Brass Balls award goes to the late Hakaso who had the gumption to pick Ama over Hakuho. Today we have 6-0 Bart against an 0-6 Daishodai. Will anyone chance the Big BB award and choose Daishodai? Edited March 17, 2006 by Mattjila
aderechelsea Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 even if Daishodai is playing CG he won't pick himself in this one .... next time you meet him Nishi-san ask him ... this one is the safest bet i've seen. Even Asashoryu-Hokutoriki looks a derby compared to that ... (now that i jinxed it enough i can sit back and enjoy the massacre since i left the game on day 3)
Mattjila Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 (now that i jinxed it enough i can sit back and enjoy the massacre since i left the game on day 3) Here's hoping. I haven't picked Bart yet, and I'm not going to. I'll probably drop out soon, but there is some nagging bit of honor, idiocy, or something that makes me not select him.
aderechelsea Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 you could try Hochiyama who is below baruto in the banzuke ... now that i think of it Hochiyama kicked me out of this game (hmmmm ... don't listen to me)
Fukurou Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 18 left, most sticking with Baruto. Reminds me of the days when everyone kept riding on the "Asashoryu gravy train" - as a result, the CG rules were changed so you can't pick the Yokozuna or the Ozeki. (Shaking head...)
Jakusotsu Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 18 left, most sticking with Baruto.Reminds me of the days when everyone kept riding on the "Asashoryu gravy train" - as a result, the CG rules were changed so you can't pick the Yokozuna or the Ozeki. (A yokozuna...)That's easy to fix! Just set another rule allowing only Japanese born rikishi to be picked. Nobody will survive day 5 anymore. (Neener, neener...)
Kintamayama Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Day 13, 14 left. Gotta do something about these riders on a sure wave.. Next basho, some changes.
Sakana Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 (edited) A rule like : never the same picks two days consecutive ? In order to avoid "zensh Edited March 24, 2006 by Sakana
Zenjimoto Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 *sigh* that was my suggestion a loooong time back... allow all back in, including Yokozuna and Ozeki, just don't allow consecutive picks of the same rikishi... :-P
Doitsuyama Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I liked the idea to ban just all foreigners. (Sigh...) Should work wonders.
Kintamayama Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 *sigh* that was my suggestion a loooong time back... allow all back in, including Yokozuna and Ozeki, just don't allow consecutive picks of the same rikishi... (Sigh...) No, no, no. We'll allow to pick one rikishi only three times a basho or something like that. And if we go for this option, all players will be eligible, of course. Your suggestion is too much like another game...

I am drawing a blank :-D If you mean S4, it is not... coz what I propose is that you can pick the same rikishi more than once, just not on consecutive days... ;-) Edited March 24, 2006 by Zenjimoto
Jakusotsu Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 How about "You can't pick a rikishi with more wins than losses" - that would be a brainwrecker! (Sigh...)
