charliki Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) If you like daily head-to-head game, you'll maybe like HIGASHIvsNISHI. It's not difficult. You look first (R Edited January 6, 2006 by charliki

charliki Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Don't you have to do something first so that you know whether you are Higashi or Nishi? I made this table here where you can see if you are higashi or nishi.

Zeokage Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I thought that might be the way, but I didn't want to go so far with experimenting until I got confirmation. Thanks for the testing though... I assume that you choose 5 maegashira and 5 juryo that you think are going to win that day? There seems to be more to it than just that though, but I can't tell with my lack of French understanding.
Asashosakari Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) I assume that you choose 5 maegashira and 5 juryo that you think are going to win that day? Yup, with the twist that you're limited to those rikishi competing on the same side as you, and sanyaku apparently can't be picked. There seems to be more to it than just that though, but I can't tell with my lack of French understanding. The tiebreaker for equal numbers of winners is the highest placement of a winner, if Babelfish is to be trusted. So your most trusted Makuuchi should go at 1, most trusted Juryo at 6, etc. Edited January 6, 2006 by Asashosakari
Zeokage Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) Tiebreaker? Is this scored like Sumo Game (head to head with other players), Toto (best half on the day get a win) or some other system that I haven't thought was possible just yet? *Uses Babelfish to see if it helps* Yes, it's a version of Sumo Game where the choices are more restricted. Edited January 6, 2006 by Zeokage
charliki Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) It's not so different than the Sumo Game, but an "higashi" team fight against a "nishi" team. The rikishi picked are not the sames than your opponent. And you pick maegashira and juryo. For the tie break, the higher placed winner will give the win, like in Sumo Game, but if the winner are placed on the same floors, the higher placed in the banzuke wins (contrary to Sumo Game). Come on to try it : Hatsu basho is just a test without banzuke. But if it works, I will use the results to make the banzuke of Haru basho. ;-) Edited January 6, 2006 by charliki
charliki Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) ;-) What Zeokage is saying is that he is not listed on that page. To be listed he need to subscribe. To subscribe you give first your email address and a password, than your shikona and confirm your password. It works. After that you will be listed here and you can make your picks here or here. Zeokage Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Tried that... got a message in French that somehow stopped it going through I believe.
Tamanaogijima Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 As always, I like the games including juryo rikishi. You could change just one thing: After entering your daily picks, you get (at least I got) the "Soyez les bienvenu(e)s
Doitsuyama Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 (edited) Actually, you could change more than one thing. It's a nice start, but I sure hope there are some features coming in the future, like the possibility to review one's entry (instead of getting the blank entry page again). Oh, and will I have to confirm each day that I will participate and not go kyujo? It seems to come every time I log in... Edited January 7, 2006 by Doitsuyama

Misisko Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 The game looks good :-) but I have a problem... I have registered but I cannot see my name in "resultats" ... (Clapping wildly...)

charliki Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 (edited) Unfortunately Misisko and Zeokage don't made their picks. (In a state of confusion...) If you want to play tomorrow, contact me. Kintamayama Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 We will see tomorrow (In a state of confusion...) http://www.higashivsnishi.com/?p=resultats&menu=jour2 Is it just me, or are there no names in the entry form?? I mean, no rikishi to choose?
Terarno Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Be careful : For day 2, you must first go on "inscription", enter your email and password and click on "continuer", then there's no need to click on "valider" on the next page, then go on "resultats" and choose "jour 2" in the list, and check which side you're on day 2, then go on "entree" to make your picks.

charliki Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 Is it just me, or are there no names in the entry form?? I mean, no rikishi to choose? It is a little bit long, but now it's OK :-)
Zeokage Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Unfortunately Misisko and Zeokage don't made their picks. :-) If you want to play tomorrow, contact me. Maebe in march ? (Applauding...)I kept checking for my name to come up on the torikumi, but I guess you needed a pair before you added the names. I suppose I was at work when you added me on there. I definately want to try this out though. Fusen-pai feature maybe for the future? If you don't put your picks in you automatically lose? I definately would have taken a loss on Day 1 to carry on for the rest of this basho.
Asashosakari Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Fusen-pai feature maybe for the future? If you don't put your picks in you automatically lose? That's already in the rules. I think the problem was that your opponent also didn't pick. :-)
Zeokage Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Hmm... I wasn't listed for Day 2 earlier, so I thought I was taken out of the whole basho. But I just looked again and it seems that I'm back in the game with Misisko. I wonder what would have happened if we had an odd number of players?
