Kaikitsune Makoto Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 What is with Shibuya? Has he eaten a bit too much lately and forgot keiko? Maybe someone should prevent him from eating before enough keiko for one day....he has lost 8 (EIGHT) bouts in a row now! What is that??? It is all very nice that he is cheerful bloke and all but someone needs to kick his ass now definitely. He is too talented and strong too to fall into this kind of losing streak. Keiko fujuubun!!!!!! 8 losses in a row...
Naganoyama Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 And luckily you don't need to afford his food bill. (Neener, neener...)
Mark Buckton Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Tooyama got his shonichi today - should put a smile on his face. Nice oshi style - lot of aggression but left his mawashi wide open - lucky his opponent was who he was. You say two funny things. First it isn't shonichi, but hatsu-shiroboshi. Second, leaving the mawashi open, tsktsk. (Censored) And this in a full (or half full) audience! shonichi o dasu, achieving first shiroboshi in honbasho - from our own SF glossary Doits-san. It is the term often used by rikishi themselves - used it in speaking to Masutoo on Sunday (as he sadly didn't 'get' it) - and the TV announcers in Japanese. Nice spot on the mawashi there. (Sign of approval) Tooyama must be more careful. (Yucky...)

madorosumaru Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 05/15/06 Five Straight Wins! Good evening! This is Tooyama. The rikishi in the picture is, as you know, Ikeda and, believe it or not, he has won five in a row! Well, he is at a much lower rank than last basho, but it
Cammy Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Good to see that they are doing so well, just wish the rest of the guys were doing better.
madorosumaru Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 05/17/06 Natsu Basho Home Stretch Good evening! This is Tooyama. The blog template that I changed to the other day was fine and dandy, but when I saw the template at the top of the page, the Moai statues looked so darn familiar to me that I made yet another change. (Laugh) Well, Natsu Basho has reached its final stretch. Ikeda, who had a 5-bout winning streak, lost today and is now at 5 wins and 1 loss. Hoshikaze-san won today for his fifth victory! Isoazuma won his fifth! Nishitani Tokiryu-san Teruazuma-san Daiseiko Toshinyama-san are all kachi-koshi I am at 2-3 at this time. I will do my level best for the two remaining bouts! Tamanoi Beya Note: The Moai statues of the Easter Islands are quite well known in Japan. There is at least one that looks as if it is wearing a mawashi and is kneeling in a formal Japanese position. -------------------- 「世界の相撲ファンのみなさん、 これからも宜しくお願いします!」- 東桜山 "Sumo fans from around the world, I hope for continued good relationship in the future." - Tooyama
madorosumaru Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 the Moai statues looked so darn familiar to me Check out Moai rikishi(?) sitting in tamari, waiting for his bout. second row, center. Moai wearing mawashi(?) rear view shows statues with "thongs." A couple of the hats they are wearing could even look like huge "oicho" in silhouette.

madorosumaru Posted May 20, 2006 Author Posted May 20, 2006 That was a very quick responce.Well that sucks that he didn't get kk. Actually, Tooyama's record for the basho was already at the bottom of my post in the signature section when you read it. Don't give Kinta any credit. It gets to his head real fast. ;-) Despite this MK, Tooyama has done well in the year after his surgery and he is back to around the rank where he was prior to his injury. A lot of credit goes to him for his hard work during that time. Gambare, Tooyama!! Nagoya is not that far away!!

madorosumaru Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 05/20/06 Only One Day Left in Natsu Basho Amanowaka in action! Hello! This is Tooyama. This Natsu Basho Day 14. There is only one day left. The picture above shows Amanowaka, who normally keeps the heya cheerful with his crazy antics, involved in a serious battle. Unfortunately, he lost and went make-koshi at 3-4. This photo is again from T-san, who often sends us his works. Thank you very much! We sincerely appreciate your wonderful photographs, Please continue to remember us in the future. As for the picture below You may confuse it with an entree from some fancy restaurant. Actually, this was the chanko we had for lunch at the heya one day during the basho. Beef Stew with Seasonal Vegetables. It was outrageously delicious! Ikeda arranged the wine and the vegetables in the background To make the composition look more restaurant-ish. (Laugh) Here is another pic. A group of rikishi is eating pizza in the

Oimeru Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 (edited) Only 10 large pizzas, was that enough? Per rikishi, of course! (Whatever above, it is funny...) Edited May 24, 2006 by Oimeru
Mark Buckton Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 probably worth diddly squat but an ear to the Adachi concrete tells me the Tamanoi ozeki is the proud owner of a new 10 million yen Hummer. There goes his yusho prize money.
