What I wrote as a joke in my profile got aired all over the country on TV.

This is Tooyama (aka Franken)!

I am extremely pleased that a whole bunch of people called over to me at the Kokugikan

and on the train to and fro today, but . . .

That is pretty funny, but you can't make fun of a short guy trying to be in a picture, trust me I know. If you aren't in the front of the group you are screwed. Also some of the faces the guys are making in the pictures look really funny.

Super Rookie Makes Mae-zumo Debut!

Good evening! This is Tooyama.

Day 5 Natsu Basho

On Day 3, super prospect, Fukaya, made his debut.

A 15-year-old who just this spring graduated from middle school,

he is very tall (and still growing) at 195 cm.

Since there is already a rikishi named Fukaya at another heya

ad he cannot appear on the dohyo with the same moniker,

he was immediately bestowed a new shikona.

Because of his extraordinary height, his nom de sumo would be

OAZUMA! (Giant Azuma)

No, not true. He is one in a million. Young Oazuma bin Laden was discovered after many years of search over every little corner of the world with no manpower or expenses spared. I really don't know what it is about him that makes him so special. Maybe it's that inherent "Fukaya" attitude that he has about gaijin and non-believers of sumodo.

You say two funny things. First it isn't shonichi, but hatsu-shiroboshi. Second, leaving the mawashi open, tsktsk. (Censored) And this in a full (or half full) audience!
