A dumb question, but semi-related. Does the NSK take new pictures every basho, or just when the kesho changes (and, of course, when someone gets the tsuna)?

This kesho mawashi is not new thus not that of a promotion. I have used an picture of Futeno with this kesho mawashi for the Monde du sumo (le petit banzuke illustre)of July (Banzuke nagoya basho)

This pal has only 3 jagged ribbons hanging from his tsuna. :-/

I've seen this several times already... maybe this is the right place to ask: why not 5 (like most Yokozunas have)? (Annoyed...)

Edit: As for how often they actually take new pictures, I have no idea. It's possible that they're creating stock photos of every sekitori in every kesho-mawashi of theirs, just in case, but you wouldn't know it from their website.

I don't think so. I have several pictures of Futeno in different kesho mawashi. His hair is a different length in each.

there are 5 jagged ribbons, but the 2 others are behind the legs of Nishinoumi I :-S
