Kintamayama Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Asashouryuu has taken an overseas trip without formally asking anyone for "permission", which is a no-no. He is supposed to ask either his Shisho or the Kyokai for permission for an overseas trip, just like any other active rikishi. But he didn't. My sources have him in Hawaii, returning this weekend. Heiya keiko has started, but heyagashira is surfing.
hoshidango Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Could it be dejavu in terms of poor relationship with Oyakata? Wouldn't he the one to cover up for the heya's yokozuna from time to time?
Elenrian Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 (Blinking...) :-D (Dribbling...) (Eh?) Haha!!! It remembers me something... But it seems that someone knew where he went, this time! Ahh, this Asa! He's Asa! :-P
Sasanishiki Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Last time he didn't prepare well for a basho he was 9-6. I wonder if the single year record and 6 yusho are in jeopardy?
Jonosuke Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Actually unbeknownst to his oyakata nor the Kyokai, Ryu went to have a special photo shoot for his 2006 Calendar with Katie Holmes titled "Asashoryu Begins" (I am not worthy...)

Kotoku Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 He has lost once this year, right? I think he is the most "human" yokozuna to come along in a long time, and he is in sharp contrast to Waka/Taka and Chad... plus he could kick all of their butts...
Asashosakari Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 I think he is the most "human" yokozuna to come along in a long time, and he is in sharp contrast to Waka/Taka and Chad... plus he could kick all of their butts... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, Asashoryu rulez. More seriously, you may want to be fair and compare him to Taka/Waka/Ake during their active days, and the difference in behaviour will be much less pronounced.
Ryukaze Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 Akebono vs Asashoryu wow what a match that would be I wonder who would be victorious? Interesting......
Jejima Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 He has lost once this year, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you mean this calendar year (ie in the 3 basho so far during 2005), then wrong! (Bleh!)
Oimeru Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Akebono vs Asashoryu wow what a match that would be I wonder who would be victorious? Interesting...... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> K-1 or Sumo? Or maybe pro wrestling? I'd put my money on Asa in any case. (In a state of confusion...)
