38th Sumo Charity Tournament

The 38th Sumo Charity Tournament was held at the Kkan today. Variety show, etc. There was a tournament involving 16 rikishi- Yusho won by Rohou, who beat Kokkai in the finals. Asashouryuu and Chiyotaikai also participated, but I don't know who beat them. (yet..). All proceeds (2,300,000 yen- $21,300) went to the Traffic Safety fund and 6 other charity organizations.

4500 fans attended. Rohou beat Asashouryuu in the first round. The Juryo event was won by Kitazakura. Kotonowaka did Sumo with the kids, Kisenosato sang and Takamisakari came on with magician Mr. Marrick(??), wearing dark sunglasses and dressed in black, calling himself "TAKAMISAKARIK". He turned water into salt and was a huge success. "It's handpower!!", he exclaimed and brought the house down. "I'm a klutz, so I was really nervous.. I can't believe I did it!!", he said surprising himself. "My next feat? I'd like to fly. If I could make use of that in Sumo that would really be nice.. On the other hand, I'm really ashamed to be on TV looking like this..", he apologised, shyly..
