Doitsuyama Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 The Yokozuna and the three Ozeki won, with the only losing Sanyaku (aside from Kotomitsuki against Asashoryu) being Tosanoumi who lost to Miyabiyama. Kotooshu lost surprisingly to Kakizoe. Hayateumi is back on the dohyo, winning against last basho Juryo yusho winner Kotoshogiku. Juryo saw several nice technique today with a great kubinage from Ishide, a good utchari from Hakurozan, dynamic tsukidashi from Gojoro and other good throws. Kasugao and Tochisakae seem to be back on track with good wins. -- Doitsuyama Day 1 Juryo Ms1e Kaido (1-0) kotenage J14w Maikaze (0-1) J13w Kotokasuga (1-0) oshidashi J14e Dewanosato (0-1) J12w Harunoyama (1-0) yorikiri J13e Daimanazuru (0-1) J11w Chiyotenzan (1-0) yorikiri J12e Sumanofuji (0-1) J10w Gojoro (1-0) tsukidashi J11e Kanbayashi (0-1) J9w Kinkaiyama (1-0) tsukiotoshi J10e Yotsukasa (0-1) J8w Tochinohana (1-0) yorikiri J9e Kobo (0-1) J7w Wakanoyama (1-0) oshidashi J7e Kasuganishiki (0-1) J6e Daishodai (1-0) uwatenage J6w Asofuji (0-1) J5e Kasugao (1-0) shitatenage J5w Kitazakura (0-1) J4e Senshuyama (1-0) katasukashi J4w Otsukasa (0-1) J3w Hakurozan (1-0) utchari J3e Takanotsuru (0-1) J2e Tochisakae (1-0) oshidashi J2w Tamaasuka (0-1) J1w Ishide (1-0) kubinage J1e Wakatoba (0-1) Makuuchi M17w Toki (1-0) sukuinage M17e Shimotori (0-1) M16e Tamakasuga (1-0) hatakikomi M16w Katayama (0-1) M15e Takekaze (1-0) hikiotoshi M15w Tokitenku (0-1) M14w Hayateumi (1-0) hatakikomi M14e Kotoshogiku (0-1) M13w Toyonoshima (1-0) uwatenage M13e Takanowaka (0-1) M12w Tokitsuumi (1-0) sukuinage M12e Buyuzan (0-1) M11e Aminishiki (1-0) uwatenage M11w Kisenosato (0-1) M10e Futeno (1-0) tsukiotoshi M10w Toyozakura (0-1) M9w Kyokushuzan (1-0) yorikiri M9e Ama (0-1) M8w Asasekiryu (1-0) oshidashi M8e Kotonowaka (0-1) M7w Jumonji (1-0) oshidashi M7e Takamisakari (0-1) M6w Hokutoriki (1-0) oshidashi M6e Dejima (0-1) M5w Kakizoe (1-0) oshidashi M5e Kotooshu (0-1) M4e Kaiho (1-0) hikiotoshi M4w Iwakiyama (0-1) K1w Wakanosato (1-0) yorikiri M3w Kyokutenho (0-1) M3e Miyabiyama (1-0) hikiotoshi S1w Tosanoumi (0-1) S1e Hakuho (1-0) uwatedashinage M2w Tochinonada (0-1) O2w Chiyotaikai (1-0) oshidashi M2e Kokkai (0-1) O1w Tochiazuma (1-0) oshidashi M1w Roho (0-1) O1e Kaio (1-0) okuridashi M1e Tamanoshima (0-1) Y1e Asashoryu (1-0) hikiotoshi K1e Kotomitsuki (0-1) Day 2 Juryo J14e Dewanosato (0-1) Ms1w Masatsukasa (1-0) J13e Daimanazuru (0-1) J13w Kotokasuga (1-0) J12e Sumanofuji (0-1) J14w Maikaze (0-1) J12w Harunoyama (1-0) J11w Chiyotenzan (1-0) J10e Yotsukasa (0-1) J11e Kanbayashi (0-1) J10w Gojoro (1-0) J9w Kinkaiyama (1-0) J7e Kasuganishiki (0-1) J9e Kobo (0-1) J8w Tochinohana (1-0) J7w Wakanoyama (1-0) J5e Kasugao (1-0) J6w Asofuji (0-1) J6e Daishodai (1-0) J5w Kitazakura (0-1) J3e Takanotsuru (0-1) J4w Otsukasa (0-1) J4e Senshuyama (1-0) J3w Hakurozan (1-0) J1e Wakatoba (0-1) J2w Tamaasuka (0-1) J2e Tochisakae (1-0) J1w Ishide (1-0) Makuuchi M16e Tamakasuga (1-0) M17w Toki (1-0) M17e Shimotori (0-1) M16w Katayama (0-1) M14e Kotoshogiku (0-1) M15w Tokitenku (0-1) M15e Takekaze (1-0) M14w Hayateumi (1-0) M12e Buyuzan (0-1) M13w Toyonoshima (1-0) M13e Takanowaka (0-1) M12w Tokitsuumi (1-0) M10e Futeno (1-0) M11w Kisenosato (0-1) M11e Aminishiki (1-0) M10w Toyozakura (0-1) M8e Kotonowaka (0-1) M9w Kyokushuzan (1-0) M9e Ama (0-1) M8w Asasekiryu (1-0) M6e Dejima (0-1) M7w Jumonji (1-0) M7e Takamisakari (0-1) M6w Hokutoriki (1-0) M2e Kokkai (0-1) M5e Kotooshu (0-1) M1e Tamanoshima (0-1) M1w Roho (0-1) K1e Kotomitsuki (0-1) M5w Kakizoe (1-0) S1e Hakuho (1-0) M4e Kaiho (1-0) M4w Iwakiyama (0-1) S1w Tosanoumi (0-1) O1e Kaio (1-0) M3e Miyabiyama (1-0) M3w Kyokutenho (0-1) O2w Chiyotaikai (1-0) K1w Wakanosato (1-0) O1w Tochiazuma (1-0) Y1e Asashoryu (1-0) M2w Tochinonada (0-1)
Higashimori Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 (edited) And did Asa wear his black or his gold Mawashi? black, which is pretty much what he indicated after Haru was over. And he used his right hand to take the envelopes, just to save someone from asking THAT question ;-) Edited May 8, 2005 by Higashimori
Senpai Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Hakuho, Kaio and Asashoryu started strong and have a pretty good chance to extend the winning streak tomorrow with strongest battle between Kaio and Miyabiyama I think .. Kaio surely wants to end a losing streak against his tomorrow opponent. Asa should get his win much easier as he has won last bouts between him and Tochi. Battle between Hakuho and Kaiho can go either way .. both have shown strong abilities each other but as Hakuho want's to wash away last bashos failure he should be bigger candidate for win.
Senpai Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 And all three big guns were showing great sumo today as I predicted and took their earned wins.
