sekihiryu Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 3 days of epic waist deep powder snow, wiped sumo from my mind but back today so here we go! Go on son give us a kiss - Hakuho and his folks Asashouryu with his celebratory drive out the 44 kensho in this photo are the reason Asa was smiling so much! Hakuho - Takamisakari ---" why you little....." Asa and Chiyotaikai - "putting on few pounds there bud?" why what a big trophy you have daddy! " p.s who is the little smiler to the left of Asa? Kensho was all the talk of the papers Todays kimarite as used by Asasekiryu against Kisenosato abisetaoshi (backward force down) - The attacker will force his opponent over backwards by throwing his weight into the opponent from a grappling position.
Chiyozakura Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 why what a big trophy you have daddy! " p.s who is the little smiler to the left of Asa? I think his name is Paul McCartney. He recently played in a band called The Beatles and had some minor success.. Just my first impression... ;-)
Kintamayama Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Hakuho - Takamisakari --- <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sakari: " Pssst...Aren't you supposed to slip and fall down at this point as agreed??"
Fujisan Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Not actually seeing any sumo in over a year I never realised how tall Hakuho was I had always pictured him as a short rikishi. How tall in feet and inches is he?

It was quite easy to miss as it was given as Boxing in the TV guides. :-O
Manekineko Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Hakuho's dad looks a bit older than I imagined (compared to Asashoryu's, let's say). How old is he?
Yubiquitoyama Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Hakuho's dad looks a bit older than I imagined (compared to Asashoryu's, let's say). How old is he? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know, but since he supposedly won a medal in wrestling in the Olympics in Mexico 1968, I'd say he's about 60-65. He doesn't really look older than some of the tate-gyoji of the last few years who have of course none of them been older than 65...
