sumofan Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 tomorrows match between Kaio and Hakuho is the one that excites me the most. i think Kaio can win if he stays in Bulldozer mode, but Hakuho is definitly more of a challenge than any of his previous opponents. who do you think will win... (Whistling...)
Guest Vincentoryu Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 I think Kaio will win this one because he is still too strong for Hakuho. But things will change sooner than Kaio wishes.
sekihiryu Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 KaioU will annihilate. or maybe........Exterminate!
Faustonowaka Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Easy oshidashi/yorikiri win for KaioU (In a state of confusion...)
Fujisan Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Kaio will win this one but Hakuho will win most of the remainder up to Kaios retirement-
Jesinofuji Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Hokuho will prevail! (In a state of confusion...)
Takamueda Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 This is definitely the key bout for Kaio's Yokozuna promotion. If he loses, it's most propably over. If he wins, he has to win against Wakanosato or Asashoryu, the rest (Miyabiyama, Chiyotaikai and another Maegashira) should be victims.
Ryukaze Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Yeah Kaio is too big and strong, too good on the mawashii to fall victim to Hakuho im afraid, I don't see how Hakuho will be able to pull it off.
sumofan Posted November 22, 2004 Author Posted November 22, 2004 KaioU will annihilate. Yeah i would think so too, it is just that Hakuho has been doing great up until now. It raises another question however. once (IF) he is yokozuna, will he be able to maintain his sumo at yokozuna like levels? i think a yokozuna should not only be able to get hold of the title, but also to show outstanding sumo. Asashoryu is not my favorite (go sakka (In a state of confusion...) ) but noone can deny that he dominates like a yokozuna should. i was wondering if KaioU can do the same. I really hope he can win this tournament though
Yoma Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Hakuho will try to move around Kaio and win by some -dashinage or something, because he knows he won't win by a frontal Yorikiri. But it won't work, Kaio will win by Yoriki I'd say.
Jakusotsu Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 It's funny to read how all You people know what will happen before it even happens. Get real, folks - anything is possible, and that is one of the reasons why we love sumo. Or do You dare to bet a substantial amount of money on it? Thought so... I will be happy to watch the bout, and then I'll know what happened. (In a state of confusion...)
sumofan Posted November 22, 2004 Author Posted November 22, 2004 It's funny to read how all You people know what will happen before it even happens. which is of course what being a fan is all about. (In a state of confusion...) lets go over the rules one more time: - if your idol wins, it is because he is the best - if he loses, it is because the other one was playing unfair/ bad luck / wrong referee decision / quantum uncertainty - if he is doing great -> WE are doing great - if he is not doing great -> HE is not doing great :-P
Phelix Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 lets go over the rules one more time:- if your idol wins, it is because he is the best - if he loses, it is because the other one was playing unfair/ bad luck / wrong referee decision / quantum uncertainty - if he is doing great -> WE are doing great - if he is not doing great -> HE is not doing great Quite right there, mate! (Enjoying a beer...) But I think that the bout will be a test more of Kaios mind than his body. With a fully loaded, relaxed aggressive mind his (kaios) body should be able to push Hakuho out. But if he starts worrying... Mmmm, tricky one. And Hakuho on the other hand, knows this; and this lad is Mr. Confident Tricky. I
Gusoyama Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Hakuho by hatakikomi. (Sign of disapproval)
Araiwa Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 In the Aki match between those two Hakuho had no chance at all, he was just bouncing of Kaios body at the tachiai. But IMO Kaio was faster and in better condition in Aki than now, and Hakuho is in better form now than he was in Aki. So more resistance from Hakuho but still a win from Kaio I think.
Coo-cook Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 (edited) In Aki, Hakuho's hatakikomi failed against Wakanosato. He was very desperate, I guess. This time, it's little bit different. He already made KK and is more relaxed. He will deliver a decent fight... just to test himself. And, who knows............ Edited November 22, 2004 by Coo-cook
Ryukaze Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Hakuho by hatakikomi. (Sign of disapproval) who has EVER hatakikomi'd Kaoi!?? He isnt known to wildly come after his opponents (though he could really kick some a-- if he did) so I dont think theres much a chance of that. I think hakuho needs to come right in fast and hard and get the belt of kaio, while keeping him moving to one side or the other to throw kaio's momentum off if he wants to have a chance, I just dont see it happening tho but ya never know.......
Kintamayama Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 who has EVER hatakikomi'd Kaoi!?? This year, Wakanosato and Kyokushuuzan. Last year-Touki ( for the second time). And some others before, 15 more cases since 1990, to be exact.. Since you asked..

Aren't you, too, one of the 80,000,000 national football team coaches we alledgedly have in Germany? ;) I bet you are... Right, we're fans so we don't only know everything, we know everything better! Kishinoyama Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 lets go over the rules one more time:- if your idol wins, it is because he is the best - if he loses, it is because the other one was playing unfair/ bad luck / wrong referee decision / quantum uncertainty - if he is doing great -> WE are doing great - if he is not doing great -> HE is not doing great :-) Very nice post! I think Kaio by Kotenage (Enjoying a beer...)
KIKENNA Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 What my common sense and logic tells me is that Kaoiu (whom i really like) is still to strong, so I'm also predicting a yorikiri win, but there's this feeling that I have which is screaming that Hakuho will outsmart Kaiou's strength tomorrow. This is a tough one since I like both of them but I think I like Hakuho a bit more... so what I'd really like to see is Hakuho's uwatenage win. That would make my day. (Applauding...) GO HAKUHO B-)
Tenkashoryu Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Everyone is betting for Kaio huh. But I am gonna go against the tide. Great White Hope is gonna need my support (Applauding...) Go Hakuho..... ! He is smart and he is gonna win it somehow. I am sure his old folk (olympic silver medalist) called him from Mongolia and gave him some ass-kicking hints. Cannot wait to see this bout.
Mark Buckton Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 spoke to 3 old Japanese men on this yesterday - love Hakuho all of them but can't see any way Kaio can lose - experience etc. Thus - my choice to go for Hakuho. (Applauding...) Won't make a difference to toto - have 23 or 22 and some dood with less wins but enough 'draws' in a sport without them (not technically I know) - beats me anyway B-)
Guest MGLSekitori Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 As much as I like Kaio. I don't want to see asterisk Yokozuna no matter how deserving it is. Go Hakuho!
