I'll change my last BBCode using routine to html output - the kensho output still works the same after the update, the one for spirited rikishi has to be adapted the same way.

The expansion of linked pics from my overview code is a bit of a nuisance, but now I know how to deal with it.

I frequently get YT embedding errors that remind of the blacklist one: 

The link could not be embedded because of an unexpected error: error: "Something went wrong. Please try again.".

Posting often doesn't work after this happens - I had to copy the post to a new window and then it worked

For me the forum looks according to my device settings and shows up dark at night when my device is set to switch to go dark mode and light during the day when night mode is off.

I usually have my default set to "unread content." Before, when I marked all content as read, it automatically cleared the stream, but now nothing happens until I click on "unread content" or refresh.

The links to the most recent active threads on the home page no longer go to the next unread post, but to the top of the thread.  At least, that's what seems to be happening.

I don't like the new simple search format, because now the possibility to select there "in titles" instead of everywhere is gone and the option "and" (all) instead of the default "or" (any) for the search - now only advanced search is useful

Look at Content View Behaviour in your account settings, you might have to change it from 'Take me to your leader the beginning'.

No bugs to report, I just want to express my gratitude to Exil and everyone involved in making the forum run. You are awesome! It feels so good to have all the functionality back and with a slicker design to boot.

 I completely agree.

I especially like the new sumo forum logo, with the stylish "sumo" font.

Some lost funtionality is somehthing we'll adjust to, the stability now is the most important aspect now. Not only the blacklist error is gone, also the emoji error, that e.g. prevented embedding of modern titled YT videos.

What I noticed is that the bottom right of the panel has "next unread ... ", but I swear that it used to give the TITLE of the next thread.

Welp, turns out I can produce neat monospace text as simply as using <pre> tags in generated HTML code, but it completely breaks the experimental dark theme because anything pasted from browser-displayed HTML output comes with a text color set explicitly (even if the actual code doesn't have it). The dark theme colour inversion can't handle it, so what's black-on-white in normal becomes black-on-black in dark.

Well, not "guaranteed" per se, but perhaps it would be "slightly more likely to be supported out of the box (or at all)".

How many videos are you embedding at a time? I suspect that embedding a lot of them at a time could trip the parser.

Hm, I wonder what would happen if one was to add a color definition to <PRE>...

BTW, it's a general issue with any copy-pasted text (at least on my current browser, maybe others handle the pasting differently):

Just take a look at this in the dark theme: "Hm, I wonder what would happen if one was to add a color definition to <PRE>..."

The error already happened with the 1st video in the post, and also for the 2nd. Trying to post it resulted in: nothing happened, regardless of how many times I clicked on submit.

Are you sure it wasn't a quote? I get that error all the time and get reminded that the edit button isn't at the bottom any more.

Now I got that also for edit - for edit of a new thread posted, the top post, in other posts I never had that so far. But maybe mostly because I was late with editing, because I first quoted the post.

Can the "Expand" feature on quote boxes be adjusted? In this example of a post that I quoted earlier, to see Asashosakari's post one has to click to expand, but as it's only one line it doesn't take up any more space than the "Expand" button does. Personally I'd do away with it altogether, but if it must stay then I hope it can be set not to trigger needlessly like this.

I've noticed something like this is true with some client interaction software I use for work.  Any text that I or someone else pastes into the chat box ends up with a white background, whereas the text I send typically has a light blue background - the copy and paste function is invisibly adding the source's color settings in the pasted text.  I suspect this is a recent "feature" of various web browsers, and they thought they were being helpful.

 

edit: I think this can be avoided by "pasting as plain text", which according to what I'm seeing you can do just by adding SHIFT to your ctrl-C.  This doesn't help a ton when you don't realize that's going to happen and you're working in a medium where you can't do edits, but at least I don't think that's the case here.  It would be a problem, for example, on IRC or things like that.

Do we need the rank icon to cover a part of the avatar picture? It's not very informative (requiring to hover the mouse pointer over it to learn anything) while making some avatars look ugly (case in point: mine).

I think it makes all avatars look ugly.

There's apparently a way to upload custom rank thingos: if someone wants to make nice calligraphy icons that can get uploaded, that'd be cool.
