Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Let's look at the entry stats.... Yokozuna pick.... Spain - 11 England - 5 Spain is a lot more popular than reigning Euro Champs, the Lionesses....
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 (edited) Ozeki pick.... Germany - 9 France - 7 This is a good split for the game. (Ideally, we don't want anything more than a 10-6 split...) Edited May 24 by Jejima
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Sekiwake pick.... Sweden - 9 Netherlands - 7 Another good split.
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Komusubi pick.... Italy - 9 Denmark - 7 So, apart from the Yokozunas - all looking good, so far for the game!
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Joi-jin pick.... Norway - 11 Switzerland - 5 So, home advantage (these two teams are both in Group A) is not considered as a deciding factor.
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Upper Makunouchi pick.... Iceland - 10 Portugal - 6 The smallest nation competing getting the most selections here.
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Mid-Makunouchi pick.... Belgium - 9 Finland - 7 Back to a good 'split'.
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Lower Makunouchi pick.... Poland - 10 Wales - 6 Wales joins England as being an under-picked team from the United Kingdom.
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Overall picks.... Spain and Norway share the honours for being the most picked sides. Rather counterintuitively the two least picked teams are the home nation of Switzerland, and the reigning Euros champ of England! With all choices being 50-50, Group D is definitely under-represented, as all of the teams there have received less than 50% of the picks. England 31.25% - Lowest Group D Switzerland 31.25% - Lowest Group A Portugal 37.50% - Lowest Group B Wales 37.50% - Group D Denmark 43.75% - Lowest Group C Finland 43.75% - Group A France 43.75% - Joint highest Group D Netherlands 43.75% - Joint highest Group D Belgium 56.25% - Group B Germany 56.25% - Group C Italy 56.25% - Group B Sweden 56.25% - Group C Iceland 62.50% - Group A Poland 62.50% - Highest Group C Norway 68.75% - Highest Group A Spain 68.75% - Highest Group B
Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 We all need to pick the penalty takers for the Quarterfinals (the first round of knockout matches). Once I have received all of these, I can breathe a sigh of relief, as the game can then run with 'drones' if need be. (I am sure that there won't be any drones, as all players have played in previous tournaments, so know what to expect.) Quarterfinals Penalty Takers It is the order of likelihood that they will reach the Semifinals (not the quarterfinals themselves). So, only 4 teams can actually get that far - and score a penalty, if required. You do need to pick 11 teams, though. @Achiyama, @Asapedroryu, @Athenayama, @Finngall, @Ganzohnesushi, @Jakusotsu, @Koorifuu, @Nekonishiki Banji, @Pitinosato, @Ryoshishokunin

Jejima Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 I'm copying and pasting the following - but probably unnecessary, as we have all played before When submitting your line-ups, you should line-up your squad in the order of likelihood that you think that they will win (or at least draw). There are special rules for Representative teams (R) and Counter-balance teams (C) - so be careful with those. Remember that your ® team is very powerful if it wins, but can be a nightmare to your chances if it draws or loses. Your © team is 'normal' with a win, but is powerful with a draw, and bad if it loses. Your other 6 (N) teams do well if they win, are neutral if they draw, but could break your chain if they lose. With that under consideration, you need to arrange your squad in order (with the most likely to win their first round match first, to the team you think has the least chance of a win last), and send that to you refioji. Look here under Match-play Group Stages for more details, but the above is a good summary. Please make your subject line-up like this..... Jejima Round 1 Selection Then send your line up like this.... (Please indicate your ® and © picks to make it easier for your refijoi.) Make sure you send it to your correct refioji! Jejima: 1. Scotland, 2. Ireland, 3. Greece, 4. Italy (R), 5. Norway (C), 6. Hungary, 7. San Marino, 8. Malta Comment: Please add a comment! It makes the game more fun. (Really.)

Asapedroryu Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I have sent the penalties at the weekend and have recent again now. The survey site doesn't give me a Ok or something that confirms it was submitted. It just puts the teams in ascending order and I click send again. Let me know if you got the one I sent today. Otherwise, maybe through PM.
