Susanoo Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Kaikitsune-san (I dunno...) It is very wonderful Japanese. I was able to understand the thing written by Kaikitsune-san altogether. When talking about it further, possibly I did not need to look at Torikumi of more Sanyaku on the 2nd. I can visualize the scene, reading your description. You and I have observed Sumo in the same viewpoint. And I am very happy about that. I am also the same position in forum as today's you . I have always submitted my English to forum diffident. About what% has the meaning got across to you, as for the text which I am taking out to Featured rikishi? Kintamayama-san (Applauding...) I have seen your Japanese repeatedly in Japan. I know that you will also master a Kanji character freely. This Japanese is perfect. You have reached the uncanny top. Moreover, if there is an opportunity, please write also in Sumo gamers or NoriC. Manekineko-san (Sign of approval) I want to tell you the same thing as it is as you said. Your Japanese is also perfect. A Japanese teenager is Japanese to superior like you. Nishinoshima-san (Whatever above, it is funny...) Maidoooo... hisashiburi yanee . Konbasho wa mokattemakka. Watashi wa bochibochi desuwa. Mata osaka-ben no ude o agetan to chau? About what% has the meaning got across to you, as for the text which I am taking out to Featured rikishi? 98% goro to omoimasu! (Applauding...) Ozeki day 2 was again on the down side of the river where chikaramizu concentration is not abundand. Bochi bochi desu at maximum... KaioU was convincing correcting the main mistake of shonichi and getting a sturdy tachi-ai in. Right hand outside grip and then a righteous right hand power surge. Stunning display of KaioU at his best. Now he has showed both sides of him; one disasterous queue of events on shonichi and one perfect display of unmatched horse power. Crucial it is how his average days ago. Haven't seen any of those yet. But then the other 3 ozeki. Tochiazuma gets good papers. In a bully clash Kokkai and Azuma locked their horns and the bout really was head on head and both are experts in such stance. If you ever want to see a good example of lock horn-sumo, these guys can show it to perfection. After some esthetic text book horn locking and rapid arm fencing, Azuma did again his lighthing fast move aside and slapped Kokkai off balance. He then got close and another phase of the bout started. Some mutual shuffling took place until Azuma did sukuinage which Kokkai countered with a kind of leaning kote pressure. Both went down but Kokkai lost clearly. Yet Azuma's biggest worry was in the landing. He had a very nasty landing on his shoulder and the gesture language indicated there was a painful moment or a moment of despair that did the shoulder get busted again. He looked calm while waiting for mono-ii but sure looked worrysome. He said his knee is not normal yet and now if the shoulder got worse again, it could mean another uphill struggle. He was better in sumo today that on shonichi but so many tough foes. Ticking time bomb in his shoulder again would be a devastating burden. Hopefully I am wrong and it was just a small worry for him. Anything in the news? How was the hanamichi walk? Probably wants to hide the shoulder injury if it took place but still.. Musoyama put up better fight as Nada didn'tr get his left hand inside. Still Muso doesn't have the tools to oust strong foes now and looks awfully rusty. He has to be going down now but he converts into a machine by random so you never know..he looks bad for now. Miyabiyama dominated Taikai from the start. Absorbed tachi-ai, got right hand inside and simply twisted Taikai down. Taikai's elbow doesn't look too perky either. Taikai and Muso look very bad whereas Azuma has big worries about health. KaioU is 1-1 but lost against his worst nemesis under ozeki-rank and looks genki. Ozeki as a whole are a rather wrecked bunch with time bombs, preparation problems and challenger problems. Tamaasuka had Ushiomary in defense most of the bout but couldn't quite a clearly superior grip in order to bulldoze the big tank out. Longish bout with Tamakaasuga exerting more power and using more energy but at the end it was Ushiomary who suddenly unleashed a dash and while Tamak tried to do a dashinage, he went out first and suffered his first loss in juryo, Tamakaasuka looks ready for juryo though. Another youngster Wakakirin was attacking ferociously as well and kept pummeling Tenzan's eely body. Tenzan weathered though and performed a crisp grip change, got morozashi and walked Wakakirin out. Ishide and Kotokasuka had a 15 second bout full of action without any silent moments. Ishide is back to his former sharpness and won a good spirited bout. Shiko height master Katayama took advantage of Hakuryozan's relapse into too prevalent pulling and sent the Russian to 0-2 to think about some more forward approach for day 3. Wakanoyama is probably the slowest at shikiri but went down fastest today when KaidoU moved aside and dumped Waka down. Bushuyama and Kinkaiyama had a long even yotsu-battle where both used a lot of their strength. Kinkaiyama managed to launch a decisive drive after long even tussle. Daishodai looked awesome. Genki. Kitazakura and Otsupotsu are in shape too. Kita won by a retreating circular pull at the end but Potsu was really sharp in the bout too. Shogun simply hit Kobo like a cannonball and Kobo went out. Easy..Toyonoshima looked to be beautifully in synchrony with world and floated his way into a calm victory in the good kind of flaoting sumo (bad floating is hovering kind of featherness). Aminishiki is as bad as in Aki and for the same reason. Toki gave some decent blows to Futeno's reasonably smooth face and even fought valiantly on the belt after Futeno secured a perfect grip. Toki had a grin of some sort on his face as if to say "Heh..did put up a fight at least eh!!". Kasugao gave kotenage medicine to Kisenosato. Kasugao has beaten half of the sekitori with kotenage at least once. Kasugao kotenage is of high order and evidently a tricky one to defend against. Kasugao opened himself up to Kisenosato at the tachi-ai and then just used that high order kote-grip to dump the young star. Easy when you know how to do it... Two leg technicians Kaiho and Tokitenku tried without exaggeration 15 times uchigake, kakenage, even chongake and as both tried the same stuff, it was the battle of shins! Kaiho had his favoured deep shitate-grip which he used to maneuvre Tokitenku around and out after the shin duel turned out to be indecisive. Nice leg work by both. Ama was just too everywhere for Takanowaka. What else can you say? Ama simply used himself as an unavoidable octubus and Taka was confused of what to do. This bout was a good example of "inivisble skill". Ama didn't do anything major but yet he did a lot and Takanowaka had no alternatives than to go out. Wonderful stuff. Hokutoriki gave basically ONE (1) push and Tama went out... Russian his favourite grip ( I think) and outpowerred Hayateumi out. Roho looks good so far. 2-0 with good non-pulling sumo. Bulgarian lost against Toyozakura who just disappeared after impact. Osh has had a poor start. QttP's bout of the basho Buyuzan vs Sekiryu undoubtedly pleases him greated since Buyuzan did standard oshi-sumo and while Sekiryu came back once from the brink of defeat, the second time around Buyuzan slid ded him over and out. Sekiryu looks oddly sluggish and uninspiring. Sakke gave Kotoryu right hand outside and had his own right arm in banzai. Yet Sakke endured and slipped behind Koto and pushed him down with okuritaoshi. Kotonowaka and Tenho went migi-yotsu both but Koto broke Tenho's left hand outside grip and threw him down with uwatenage making his uwatenage in makuuchi record more and more impressive. Tenho looks weak too in the same way as Asasekiryu. Kotonowaka looks ageless as usual. Hakuho beat Mickey at the tachi-ai and gained his strong left hand outside grip. From then on the already characteristical pressure uwatenage attempt made Mickey spin around and down. Perfect bout for Hakuho. Mickey never had a chance for counter attack as he didn't get any decent grip at the clash. Wakanosato carried Dejima to the tawara where Deji landed but was forced down with yoritaoshi. Wakanosato has started remarkably well. Dejima limped his way out. Edited November 15, 2004 by Kaikitsune Makoto

Hakuyobaku Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Does Kokkai look Genki at all? He has never had a 0-2 start (in Makunouchi, at least) so that worries me .
KIKENNA Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Apparently you didn't see the "Day 2 pics" thread? Obviously. I get a lot of hits in the head per week, thats all i have to say in my defense. (Whatever above, it is funny...)
Susanoo Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Daishodai looked awesome. Genki. I agree with you. It is this torikumi that I was most surprised on the 2nd. I think that Torikumi which was most excellent also about Tachiai. He broke in ahead forcibly[Fumikomi]. And he bumped into Yotsukasa with the head. Then, he went to hold Mawashi. Then, he did not move forward confusedly, but caught the partner firmly, and did prudent advance[banzen no yori]. The wrestler who gets such a thing does not get down into juryo. If he continues yesterday's sumo, he will be simply promoted to Makuuchi. (Whatever above, it is funny...)
Jonosuke Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Korewa korewa, Kaikitsune san, kyoushuku shimashita. Kitanofuji san ni hitteki suru kaisetsu, soremo kanpeki na nihongo de. Kanshin shite haiken shimashita. Ato wa kanji henkan wo nasareba nihongo no keijiban nimo jyubun toukou dekiruto omoimasu. ++++++++ Kaikitsune san, this was certainly a pretty impressive display of your Japanese ability but your expert analysis is right on the target again. All you need to do is just do the kanji/hiragana conversion and I think you can post it to any sumo BBS in Japan. A great work (Whatever above, it is funny...)
Kashunowaka Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Roholooks good so far. No, he doesn`t. :-P :-/
QttP Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Miyabiyama dominated Taikai from the start. Absorbed tachi-ai, got righthand inside and simply twisted Taikai down. Taikai's elbow doesn't look too perky either. I wonder if it could be a career-ending injury, like Maru's wrist - didn't seem to terrible when it first came around, but he keeps complaining about it, and clearly his old power is nowhere to be seen. Fighting against time now... QttP's bout of the basho Buyuzan vs Sekiryu undoubtedly pleases himgreated since Buyuzan did standard oshi-sumo and while Sekiryu came back once from the brink of defeat, the second time around Buyuzan slid ded him over and out. Sekiryu looks oddly sluggish and uninspiring. Yay! Buyuzan is THE WARRIOR! He was briefly in a dangerous position, but kept going nonetheless. We shall prevail!
Sasanishiki Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 (Applauding...) Is it just me or is romaji really ahrd to read in large passages like this? I find the kanji and hiragana (and katakana) speeds everything up so much, whereas I have to read romaji really slowly! I realise software etc leads to writing in romaji and I applaud KKM on the effort. ;-)
Kishinoyama Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 (edited) To me...... Their is not much differance between Romanji and Kanji..... Well one is more difficult but Difficult is the word that fits both of them in my case.... I can sort of pronounce the words with Romanji but I still don't know what they mean. :'-( Edited November 17, 2004 by Whitney
