Kintamayama Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 (edited) "I'll be the wall between KaioU and his tsunatori aspirations", said Asa, again. Cool caption-"Asa and KaioU-tsunahiki(tsuna pulling)". Tsunahiki is actually a tug of war. A "Tsuna-hickey" is probably something else. Hmm.. I just noticed that "wall" can be read as "Heki".. Heki hiki hickey. Asa throws Touki at keiko: Edited November 13, 2004 by Kintamayama
Ivan Sergeyevich Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 "I'll be the wall between KaioU and his tsunatori aspirations", said Asa, again. And all these years I've thought a rikishi can inflict only a single loss to another guy during the honwari... Perhaps Asashoryu knows better.
Jakusotsu Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Asashoryu's self-imposed wallishness implies winning the yusho instead of Kaio, so I think.
Coo-cook Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 I don't know. I hope, Asa's talking what he really means. It's only one bout with Kaio. But, Kaio should be one,who should fly over a cuckook's nest. The loss to Kotomitsuki was so disappointing.I'm still looking for a big "do or die" showdown with Asa.

Most likely, yes, but even then you're bound to find yourself at YW if you keep churning 14-1's for a decade or so. :-P Well, make that 13-2 now after the loss to Mickey.
aderechelsea Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Kaio's head remains the wall between hmself and the aforementioned tsuna. a couple more of these displays and he can kiss the tsuna goodbye. Asa is just messing with U's head
Naifuzan Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 (edited) all in all it's just another brick in the wall :-D Edited November 14, 2004 by Naifuzan
Otokonoyama Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Would "insurrmountable wall" be something like "great wall", or "Ozeki - 大関" ? Did 'Shoryu mean he was gonna be an Ozeki, just a plain, ordinary Ozeki to Kaio? That may explain things on senshuraku ;-)
Asashosakari Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Would "insurrmountable wall" be something like "great wall", or "Ozeki - 大関" ? Did 'Shoryu mean he was gonna be an Ozeki, just a plain, ordinary Ozeki to Kaio? That may explain things on senshuraku ;-) Perhaps it was a secret message telling us that he already expected to be a Yokozuna-Ozeki soon... Yoavoshimaru Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 This thread was just begging for... "all in all, you're just another brick in the wall..." (not my creation) (Blinking...)
Kintamayama Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 This thread was just begging for... "all in all, you're just another brick in the wall..." (not my creation) :-O It was used already by Naifuzan about 12 posts above yours..
asa_love Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 asa acts as the WALL for everyone.. ozekis get promoted with 2 consecutive yushos, right? kaio won, then asa blocked him chiyotaikai won, then asa blocked him then tochiazuma won, and asa blocked him kaio won again, and asa blocked him with a yusho after that again..(forgot the actual order.. ) i guess its just that asa wont let himself lose yusho 2 times in a row...i DO want kaio to make it to yokozuna though... actually perhaps iwakiyama deserves being called a "wall" more.. his face is just like one
Yoavoshimaru Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Well, that is the role of the yokozuna. When an ozeki can consistenly thrive in the face of strong yokozuna competition, he deserves the promotion. asa acts as the WALL for everyone..ozekis get promoted with 2 consecutive yushos, right? kaio won, then asa blocked him chiyotaikai won, then asa blocked him then tochiazuma won, and asa blocked him kaio won again, and asa blocked him with a yusho after that again..(forgot the actual order.. ) i guess its just that asa wont let himself lose yusho 2 times in a row...i DO want kaio to make it to yokozuna though... actually perhaps iwakiyama deserves being called a "wall" more.. his face is just like one <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

When an ozeki can consistenly thrive in the face of strong yokozuna competition, he deserves the promotion. true, my opinion. More, if a yokuzuna scores a zensho yusho a 13-2 should not be a yusho equivalent. btw, it looks more like Asashoryu being the ladder. If he had won against Kaio, Kaio would have to start from the beginning again.
