Standings after the Quarter Finals :

Now how about that ? 2 rounds left and the competition is fierce !
Joputosu remains in the lead but the gap with his first pursuers (Bunbukuchagama and Athenayama) is only 5 points. Pitinosato is not that far either 11 points behind the leader.
Many players can still fight for the win. The round of the semis will be decisive this time !

This one was really time consuming !
However I did it for the fun.

Standings after the Semi Finals :

Just one game to go, the final (Spain - England)!
Several players can still win this !
Joputosu is still in the lead followed by Athenayama 2 points back, Pitinosato 15 points behind and Bunbukuchagama 16 points behind.
Spytoneryu, Lordshamrockyama and Pandaazuma are right behind them.
Most probably the final winner will be one of these players. 

Needless to say that the suspense is at its peak !

Note : Some totals are not the sum of all points as some players got penalties for transfers. The totals include the transfer penalties.

Final Standings :

First of all thanks to all who participated, the competition was fierce and several players could still win before the final.
Joputosu was leading from the Round of 16. His lead was shrinking from round to round but did he resist till the end ?
The real final showed us a pleasant football, especially in the second half. The same happened in our fantasy. Joputosu was still the leader at half time. In the second half everything changed and Athenayama took the lead, after Williams scored, to keep it till the end. Hence the EURO title remains in his hands.
Joputosu finishes just 6 points behind the winner and was very close to make the double (UEFA fantasy + Bench EURO). Congrats to him !
Bunbukuchagama finishes third also just 6 points behind the second, "stealing" the last spot on the podium from Pitinosato at the very end just for 1 point.

As a conclusion, I would like to let you all know that we also have been playing for years the European Champions League Fantasy of the UEFA site.
I have tried to advertise it several times here on the forum to bring more players.

Some have already mentioned that they are not interested. Only one player from the forum joined us 3 years ago and is playing with us since then. I let him name himself if he wishes and share any thoughts here about the game.

Up to now our private league is composed of Djodjoyoshi, Kimyama, Lordshamrockyama, Spytoneryu, Tibozuka and myself + one forum member.

I have the feeling that others would be interested to join. As you can see already from the EURO results, the competition is interesting.  ;-)

So, if you are up to the challenge, you are very welcome to join !

As I do every season I'll create a thread in the Off Topic section as soon as the game will be running. Probably and as usual beginning of September.

Thanks for organising Athenayama and congrats on the win!

From my side, and trying to justify an appalling performance I'll quote the 3 most successful Portuguese Coaches (Mourinho, Jesus and Conceição), "The team played bad, players put no effort, did lots of individual mistakes and ignored what I told them to do. Also, the referees had several wrong decisions against us" (but I was perfect and did nothing wrong).

The explanation should probably be in the points earned in other categories that grant points. I could have a look as curious as I am but it is priority in the basho for the time being (and I have some "prestigious" opponents to face these days in Bench for example ;-) )

Yes, I think you will at least face 2 off the prestigious opponents - that MUST be prio 1 !!!
