Chiyotasuke Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 I made this website for convenience of checking rikishi's head-to-head records against possible aites during the basho. Its main purpose is to help make picks for games. It's powered entirely by @thatsumoguy's Sumo API. Here it is - https://chiyotasuke.github.io/tsbanzuke/ Suggestions for improving the site (and its usefulness) are welcome. 6 7
Bunbukuchagama Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Wow, this is great. Instantly favorited.
Bunbukuchagama Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 It looks like only "realistically possible" aite get displayed for each rikishi; however, lower division rikishi often get beyond their immediate vicinity (especially if they do really well or really badly). Wouldn't it make sense to extend their displayed range? 1

Chiyotasuke Posted January 6, 2024 Author Posted January 6, 2024 Now the records can be seen across the whole banzuke, and they appear after a shorter time. https://chiyotasuke.github.io/tsbanzuke/ 3 3

thatsumoguy Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 This is a great use of the sumo api I'm really impressed with how it has come together. 1
shimodahito Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Just another plug for this great tool and it's already updated for Haru! 1

That's pretty crazy, he got him twice, once on his way down and once on his way back up, two years apart, almost to the day. Might have even delayed his makuuchi return by one basho with that second win. 1

Not clear he would have gone up with a 14-1, as there weren't a lot of demotion candidates, but he would have had a case (the only promotion was Kotonowaka with an 8-7 from J2).

It reminded me that he (Daiamami, not Teru) is the king of scoring 11-4 (usually D), followed by a letdown. 1
Chiyotasuke Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 The site was updated along with many improvements. Check it out! 3 1
Chiyotasuke Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 Now there's a toggle for only showing past-6-basho matchups, like you see in the NHK broadcast 3 2
Sumo Spiffy Posted May 11 Posted May 11 @Chiyotasuke Maybe this is normal during bashos, at the start, etc., but the current banzuke won't fully load. Have to click the message that says to close "creating the banzuke", and clicking wrestlers doesn't bring up H2Hs. Past banzukes work fine, though.

Have to click the message that says to close "creating the banzuke", and clicking wrestlers doesn't bring up H2Hs. Past banzukes work fine, though. Fixed now. It was due to the tsukidashi rikishi's data. I looked at the data and a lot of tsukidashi's ranks are "east" instead of "TD", I'll notify @thatsumoguy about this 1
thatsumoguy Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Hmmm, looks like I need to find another solution for Tsukidashi... i thought I'd resolved everything concerning this. I use the "side" to determine which side of the banzuke to put them on, where TD is equivalent to East. Sumodb always places them on the East side, but sumo.or.jp puts them on both sides, balancing the banzuke. 1
thatsumoguy Posted May 18 Posted May 18 So I found Hanaoka was Makushita 60 East, i've adjusted to TD, but his "side" will be east as that's where he appears on the official banzuke. Are there any others you've noticed with the incorrect rank this basho @Chiyotasuke

But the tsukedashi in past banzukes, have the same issue and don't show up in the Dashboard's banzuke. Here are the lists of makushita and sandanme entrants that could be of help: https://sumodb.sumogames.de/Rikishi.aspx?shikona=&heya=-1&shusshin=-1&b=-1&high=-1&hd=-1&entry=7&intai=-1&sort=6 https://sumodb.sumogames.de/Rikishi.aspx?shikona=&heya=-1&shusshin=-1&b=-1&high=-1&hd=-1&entry=8&intai=-1&sort=6 Edited May 18 by Chiyotasuke

I forgot to update it then I had trouble signing in to my Github account (as I had reset my PC) but it's been finally updated (which only involves changing a single string variable; I should find a way to auto-update the site) 2 2
