This 36 year old is surely in the twilight part of his career? Athenayama will be hoping for one last hurrah!

Onosato won the Juryo jun-yusho in September. Can he go further this basho? I have a feeling that Ryoshishikuni will happy with his selected rikishi.

Mitoryu needs to break his run of MKs. Three-in-a-row.

S1W lilfox has M12E Oho.

I still have hopes that Oho will prove to be a sanyaku regular in the future - and not just because he is one of my youngest son's favourites.

M10E Getayukata has been granted Y1E Terunofuji.

So, as usual with the Yokozuna of late, Getayukata will have to wait until the shonichi torikumi is published before she will know if another draw will need to be made for her.

M16E Gaijingai has been given J11E Hitoshi.

I think that this might be the only game that Gaijingai is playing this basho - I think he will be happy with this pick, despite Hitoshi being a shin-Juryo rikishi.

M9E Karasukurai gets O1E Takakeisho.

Can Takakeishi repeat his yusho victory from last basho? Karasukurai (and Takakeisho!) will certainly hope so.

M15E Ganzohnesushi has drawn K1E Abi.

Abi won the yusho last November.... Could be a good omen?
