Still waiting for @Asapedroryu and Tanetakahiro (@Achiyama) - 20 hours to go!

As I did with the Oktofinals lineup of Tanetakahiro, the 1/4 lineup was sent yesterday in the same PM in which the Group round lineups have been sent.

Please, confirm the receipt of the 1/4 finals lineup.

I can guess the root of the problem. I've deleted several previous messages to clean up. If you replied to one of those, it may probably not be delivered.

Do I have to guess that Tanetakahiro's lineup was deleted as well?

Just like Asapedroryu's case, I didn't delete the line-up but the older message you replied to. Got it now.

Thanks for the Reminder!

I never look at the status.

Like I said, when I sent you the Octofinals lineup, I did it to save space. I did it the same with the 1/4 finals.

But all is good now!

I haven't received Aminoumi's lineup yet!

BWS8  Match 2:
Ganzohnesushi (Costa Rica) vs Baku (Vietnam)

Ganzohnesushi : 1. England (S1), 2. Spain (S2), 3.France, 4. Netherlands.
Comment: I need some luck to win this match as my opponent from my point of view has a clear advantage. His Japanese team has far better chances than my Dutch squad, even more as ESP-NED will meet in an intra-bout. Hope the Swedish girls offer some resistance vs. Japan at least for 90 minutes and I can make it to a penalty shootout again. Expected lineup from my opponent is ENG-JAP-ESP-FRA.

Baku: 1. England (S2), 2. France, 3. Spain ©, 4. Japan
Comment: Not easy!

England is removed !

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BWB8  Match 6:
Jakusotsu (Philippines) vs Finngall (Sweden)

Jakusotsu:  1. England (S1), 2. Spain, 3. France, 4. Netherlands, 5. Colombia
Comment: Now I want Aminoumi to win the Cup!

Finngall : 1. Sweden (R), 2. England (S1), 3. France (S2), 4. Japan.
Comment :
Well, my "bold" pick of Sweden to eliminate the USA was correct, but since it went to penalties, I'm still out of the Cup.  Ah well.  Now looking to add another Bowl to my trophy case after winning the Bowl last year from the men's WC.  Good luck.

France is removed !

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BWC8  Match 12:
Pitinosato (Australia) vs Polimasa (Morocco)

Pitinosato : 1. Spain, 2. England (S1), 3. France (S2), 4. Australia (R).
Comment: Very interesting encounter with the real duel of my R-Team against my opponents C-Team !
That means a slight advantage for the C-Team, but on the other side I have one more Team in the rooster.
I don't think Australia will win, so they go to the "Bench". If they should win, maybe this could still be "early" enough ?!?

Hm, is this Jezz-Overthinking ???

maybe...

But as long as I win like him... :-D

Polimasa : 1. France (C), 2. Sweden (S2), 3. Spain.
Comment: I need a lots of luck against Pitinosato stronger squad! Either way I won't be going home. :-)
All teams active here.

Good luck to all !

Jejima's Comments: I've studied my aite's squad - and he must surely be putting Australia in 3rd slot? So, I will try to match that, and put it out of the equation. I think that this will be decided on whether I have called the result of the Sweden vs Japan match correctly. (Or, if England ends 90 minutes in a tie? No, come on Lionesses! No more stress watching you, please!)

Are you allowed to ram an attacker with your shoulder without even trying to make a play for the ball?

Good point.

Could be two possibilities :
- Shoulder against shoulder "almost" at the same position.
- The dutch player was too far from the ball anyway and couldn't get it with or without the "push".

I have seen many similar plays. Some referees give a penalty, some others don't. It's 50/50 and it's the mystery of interpretation in football sometimes....

I for myself would have given the penalty just to punish the Spanish player (was it Paredes? I forgot) for such a stupid action while the Dutch couldn't get the ball anyway and the goalkeeper was safe grabbing the ball in tme.

Taken from here.

Football Language: Shoulder barge
You can use this phrase, shoulder barge, as a verb or a noun. A barge is a very strong push. It is done with the purpose of deliberately pushing someone to move them from their position. In football, a shoulder barge describes the action when a player, who is trying to get to the ball, uses his or her shoulder to push against an opposing player’s shoulder – the shoulders touch. It is not seen very often now, as referees will often award a direct free kick if there is physical contact off the ball. However, in the laws of the game a shoulder barge, or shoulder charge, is legal. Both players have a right to get to the ball and they can push each other’s shoulder with their own – they can shoulder barge their opponent.

So, yes, you are allowed to ram an attacker with your shoulder.

Exactly. But they have to be at the same "level" not one behind the other. In this particular the Spanish was a little behind the Dutch. So there is room for interpretation.

As far as I understand, shoulder-to-shoulder contact is allowed when players are fighting for the ball in more or less close position; however, the Dutch attacker was clearly ahead of the Spanish defender who had no chance of getting to the ball.
