I clicked on this thread out of curiosity, and when I saw people were picking me, I decided I should go all-in and play as many of the games as I could. Right now, the only ones I can't figure out are Norizo Cup (keeps saying it's not accepting entries) and Deutsches Sumo-Tipspiel (Google Translate stopped letting me switch the site to English, so i'm just crossing my fingers that I'll figure out how to start playing). So hopefully that works out for everyone (since I picked myself too). I do have a question about how Sumo Game is scored, though. If the top 42 get points, does that mean you have to be in makuuchi to score, or is it, like, the 42 best records across all divisions? Edit: Or the top 42 point totals regardless of record? Yet. It should accept entries in the coming hours. As for tipspiel-easy, You'll figure it out the minute the torikumi is published and the chosen bouts are up. 1

I figured if I was wrong, well... I'm playing 18 other games, it's fine.

You have to be in Makuuchi to be in position to score points in Bench Sumo and Sumo Game only. As you're still "new" you won't be able to score points in these till you climb the banzuke ladder enough. In the other games you just have to finish in the top 10 to score points regardless your banzuke rank in that game. 1

Jejima Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Here is the link to the current rankings! 1-5 Oskanohana (he is absent from Bench!) Unkonoyama 6-10 Kaito (probably a bad idea to bet against the panda.... but we're here to win, so must gamble somewhere...) 11-20 Norizo (obviously) 21-40 Sakura (she is one of the best in just about every game she plays - so hopefully, she'll play a few more ) 41-80 Kuroimori (ranked way below his true ability) 81-120 Jejima (I think that it should be a rule that you have to pick yourself when playing. I might even have real time to return to sumo gaming properly towards the end of the year.... who knows?!) 121-200 Metzinowaka (for the spread of games that he plays - bound to pick points somewhere!) 201+ Gernobono (with the expectation that he will return to Bench Makunouchi some time this year) 1

It's the Japanese 'ganbare' verb. Basically a stock answer given by all rikishi in interviews. Roughly translates as 'I'll do my best'. You can also cheer on somebody by saying/shouting 'Ganbatte!' as I will now do to Sakura.... Ganbatte! 1 1

Athenayama Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 First of all, I hope @Tenshinhan is well and is just very busy. As I had some free time I tried to update the scores after Haru. Of course my table can't even be compared with Tenshinhan's and let's hope he'll be back soon to post the official. In the meantime, here is what I found. Tenshinhan Posted May 7, 2023 Author Posted May 7, 2023 First of all, apologies for my absence and thank you so much @Athenayama for taking the time and posting the results (it's nice to have a kind of double-check regarding the maths). I proudly confirm that the former Metasumo champion Flohru is the new leader after Haru 2023. Ruziklao is very close behind. ScreechingOwl jumped on the third place for now (I guess he took part in Oskahanadas yusho party to thank him for the points). @Flohru (288.79) @Ruziklao (283.55) @ScreechingOwl (276.77) Follow the link to see the official results: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iQml6QaqAyM0b9MiEBt_utVCGoBLqoTJ/view?usp=sharing 2
