In a surprising turn of events, I received a mail from nhk that my channel will be fully reinstated with an apology that they were wrong and that they now fully understand the importance of what I do. No official date as to the return, but dates are not important..

I hope this isn't an April Fools Joke (NHK apologizing would be shocking)  :-}

Well, this was an easy one to make. We are all so eager to see it happening that many could fall for it. Unfortunately, too good to be true...

You can get striked even on hidden videos that you’ve never shared with anyone if the org has finger prints to run through the checker, I believe.

I got a copyright claim for my recording of a six hour speedrun of the SNES game Earthbound, and the only link to it that was in the wild was the speedrun archive, where I was in like 100th.  I highly doubt anyone actually watched that video.  I haven't checked because it's not particularly relevant to me.  It's only for the Japanese copyright holder of the music that appears in the game, but one thing I had noticed a couple years ago was that a lot of video game music was being taken down - stuff that I loved to put on in the background.

I can now safely divulge that this was an April Fool’s joke, in case anyone actually fell for it.. No way this could really happen. Everyone should know that by now.

I knew that by the date it was posted but I didn’t want to say anything to spoil it. I did that once and got chastised for pointing out that it was April 1st.

I'm sure everyone did the same and that was very nice.

Kinda cruel, though, since you really got my hopes up for a brief moment. :'-(

Well played, Sir! (Iamnotworthy...)

Believe me, I'm not the cruel one here- I'm the devastated one, although I knew it was coming but still, 12 years of videos..

Anyone know what the plans are for May coverage?  Will "The end" of one channel be a beginning of a new one on YouTube?  Another platform?  No need to list a link - just give a wink - we can find it, I think.  Otherwise, my heart will sink and I may end up turning to drink as I am already on the brink.

It's really frustrating that I now have barely 1000 viewers, when I used to have 20000.. Very frustrating.

Just know, Moti, that we, the few, the 1000, DEEPLY appreciate all your efforts.  (Punkrocker...)

Moti, you keep bringing happiness to the lives of 1,000 people. Is it a small feat? Thank you very, very much for your effort!

Is that total? Just YT?  Or the other site?  I moved there to stop playing the YT game of find the latest Natto and Kintamayama site.  Trust me, you are watched and your productions are well loved.

Total, sir. I was frustrated a few days ago. I'm fine now.

Natto8 is surprisingly long-lasting, day 4 makuuchi got a strike from NHK and is blocked now, so today the channel should go down the drain. Still, it takes them several days - there is still hope to outsmart them. But it has to be by channel switching and that means a restart from 0 with followers.

It's not a restart with zero followers - those in the know are on other platforms and can access alternate sources within minutes. The watching experience is just fine - no end in sight.

Although I only give 1 view there are usually 3 others watching the tv with me then.

and me.

At one point, I need to have a beer with Kintamayama (I'll buy, and it does not have to be beer!).  Not only as a very, very, very small token of appreciation for all his hard work over the years, but also to share some time with a kindred spirit.  Often the exact thoughts in my mind appear in the commentary post-match.  I do not know how you do it, but they can be word-for-word.  Call it preaching to the choir, call it what you will - I am sometimes shocked by it still.

I had a cake with Kintamayama once and a nice chat - don't let anyone ever tell you Kintamayama doesn't have good taste - but I think we'd have an even better chat in the wake of all of these YouTube shenanigans!!

On the plus side, I have YouTube on the TV at home and my partner's like "what is Mord and why do you keep searching for it?" :-D
