Gunslingerx Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 If you need a stream to watch sumo, either “Sumo Stream”, “Sumo Stream 2/3/4”, “Sumo Family”, or if you can stand the truly awful pronunciation, truly astonishing level of egotism and arrogance disguised by a kind voice, and more history rewrites than Big Brother; LeoDickinsonSumo is ‘a choice’. No offense, just a personal view. I stick to JP broadcasts and work on my Japanese on the side.
Gunslingerx Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Oh, I also forgot ‘Sumo Mainichi’ for live Juryo coverage with a couple of quite charming Aussies, and ‘Sunday Morning Sumo Show’ does Makuuchi (maybe lower divisions, too, I can’t remember, but definitely live Makuuchi) and is often funny as two of the guys are hilarious. Gotta catch if live, though as they don’t upload the streams to their channel for people to watch later. if I remember any other ones, I’ll pop back.

Yarimotsu Posted June 3, 2025 Posted June 3, 2025 With all these heya now active, surely it is a majority or close to. Which begs the question; who exactly is objecting? Is it just hakkaku himself?

I also wish he'd spend more time talking about sumo and less about Pokemon. 1

Kintamayama Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 OK, summary so far: I've been watching and by far the intense one is Kise, no? It's pre- Kyushu, interesting to see Kazuma. Beast. Futagoyama (ex-Miyabiyama, Mita, Rouga) Futagoyama during basho- all rikishi bouts (only one during a basho) Isegahama (Yoshinofuji, Hakuouhou, Atamifuji, Midorifuji, Nishikifuji, Takerufuji, Enhou, ex- Terunofuji) Musashigawa (ex-Musashimaru) Tatsunami (Meisei, Houshouryuu) Isenoumi (Fujinokawa, Nishikigi) Ooshima (ex-Kyokutenhou, Kyokukaiyuu) Hidenoyama (ex-Kotoshougiku) Tagonoura (Takayasu) Oshiogawa (ex-Takekaze, Kazekenou , Yago) Kise (Kazuma, Ura, Churanoumi, Kinbouzan, Hidenoumi, Shiden , Himukamaru) Tamanoi (ex-Tochiazuma, Hatsuyama, Touhakuryuu) Ootake (Ouhou) This should keep you busy till the basho starts, January 11th, BTW.. 2

The link for Takayasu's stable doesn't seem to work. I think it was https://youtube.com/channel/UCkDpMpsFzsUFVlHmiWb5GmA?si=Sb7KgTagMyIs4fHY ? However they haven't posted in a while I think. I think you're missing Takasago. I will also piggyback on my own comment to say: If anyone is not watching Otake and Musashigawa's channels - you are so missing out. I find Otake charming mostly because of how outgoing the oyakata is, but it's also always interesting for me to look at family dynamics and Oho and his brothers indulge me for that. But Musashimaru's one... They just have such a different vibe. I find them so enthusiastic and their joy is just contagious. This was my first year with sumo so there's a lot I can't know, so I don't know what his relationship to Konishiki is (he's always in the vids, is he acting as their PR director or are they just friends?), but stuff is lit when he's in the mix.
