Inside Sport Japan Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Happy New Year to all Sumo Forum members. Let's hope 2022 is a better year than the last two. 3
Akinomaki Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 With the new year having started already in Japan, my nengajo for 2022, year of the tiger, like the year of my birth. Thus I'm toshi-otoko in 2022, like Kotoinazuma, Tochinowaka, Ryogoku, Kirinishiki, Mitoizumi and Onokuni as those who are still oyakata now. The tiger I used threefold is the symbol mark of my karate federation, international shotokan. For my kanreki I'll be designing a kanreki dohyo-iri kata for kuukido-sumo, a mix of my kuukido style with sumo and karate elements. I already made some test videos for the kuukido-sumo basics and kuukido-hitori-zumo, so far not satisfactory though. 3 1

Eikokurai Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Happy New Year to everyone from Shanghai. It’s also my kid’s birthday so that gets all my attention and gives me all the excuse I need not to go out NYE, haha. Anyway, looking forward to another year of sumo. Hopefully we can go a year without scandal and end it with the return of Asanoyama to the sekitori ranks, Takakeisho with a rope, Mitakeumi at Ozeki, and Terunofuji’s knees still holding out on him. 1
