Natsu jungyo 2022

The NSK is considering to restart the jungyo next year for the Natsu jungyo, usually after the Nagoya basho. The final decision will likely be made in February. The posters have quite a standard this jungyo, Funabashi and Saitama have the same basic design as Kasukabe above

The 2 Saitama pref. jungyo have exactly the same group on the posters, Funabashi has Chiba local Kotonowaka instead of Saitama local Abi.

Tachikawa has the same Shodai and Mitakeumi

Only Koga has something different

More rikishi, gyoji and tokoyama have been found positive to the virus, announced Shibatayama Oyakata today. "There are even small heyas where everyone was found positive. Still, we are not talking about postponing or canceling at this stage. All those participating will undergo daily antigen tests," he added.

Not only in sumo, but in general Japan isn't closing anything down (so far) due to the latest surge. Trips are scheduled to happen as usual, no mention of even the half-assed state of emergency (manbo or whatever it was called), etc.

If they government delegates to the prefectural government themselves, instead of asking them to bureacratically asking the central government for emergency declaration powers. A lot of the jungyo activities can be limited by the governors.

They don’t intend to either. Media basically told that ‘you’ll see who is there on the day”.

Saw Kotoeko getting off the train at Tachikawa a couple of hours ago so he’s probably in,

Nishikifuji and Terutsuyoshi are among those kyujo, the article says including those who were in contact, but Terunofuji is not listed, so really no longer the whole heya now. Takarafuji in the dohyo-iri then, he was in a pic.
