I put him all the way up at 10e. Made the same call on Ura/Kiribayama, but I put Oho at 18e against my better judgement. He is perfectly promotable, not to mention notable, while Kagayaki is clearly demotable, though the banzuke committee's treatment of him strongly argues they'll find a reason to keep him. I've got M5 and M9 sides switched, some rearrangements around Myogiryu's placement, and Tsurugisho ahead of Kotoeko. Otherwise we agree.

I'm not sure if this was a factor for you, but for me in determining just how much credit to give him for his schedule, I looked into it more.  Usually you'd expect an M3 with a bad record to face a bunch of bottom-tier maegashira, but he faced the top 15 rikishi he could have.  Given that many of the sanyaku were brought down to face Abi, Tamawashi, and Ura, he actually was the ONLY one to face the top 15 he could have.  If he had been handed to Kotoeko, Kagayaki, or Shohozan like he might normally have been, he'd probably have gotten a couple more wins.

That's a different case.  That's a forced promotion by long-standing guidelines.  You can't fault someone for their opponent not showing up when deciding those promotions.  You can definitely look at it when it's a case of where exactly to land someone in the middle of the maegashira.

53 I think. Quite a few unexpected decisions at ranks I felt very confident about. A lot of n-west <-> (n+1)-east switches for zero points. Happy that they went with Oho over Kagayaki after all!

Around 35, miserable. Wow, pretty wacky and VERY lenient on Sanyaku drops. Seems very generous given such a minimal number of Y/Os. Glad to see they promoted Oho even though it made me wrong in my picks.

Yeah I only got 9 of 20 points here; Ura/Kiribayama was a tossup, but I don't know what Ichinojo is doing at M2w or Onosho at M5e.
