Yubinhaad 12,005 Posted May 15, 2021 Four sessions of maezumo, with the ten shindeshi joined by Kokuryunami who is returning from one basho off the banzuke. I can't provide videos for Kintamayama's mother I'm afraid, but here are the results and standings. Day 3: X Kokuryunami Sawadasho O O Hattori Daitensho X X Daitenshin Nobehara O O Kiryuko Mukainakano X X Shunrai Miyagi O X Byakuen Daitensho O Day 4: O Kokuryunami Daitenshin X X Shunrai Mukainakano O X Byakuen Sawadasho O X Hattori Nobehara O O Miyagi Daitensho X Day 5: X Byakuen Daitenshin O O Kokuryunami Daitensho X X Hattori Mukainakano O X Shunrai Sawadasho O X Miyagi Nobehara O Day 6: O Shunrai Daitensho X X Byakuen Daitenshin O X Kokuryunami Mukainakano O X Hattori Miyagi O O Kokuryunami Daitenshin X Standings: Sawadasho Oitekaze 3-0 Nobehara Futagoyama 3-0 Mukainakano Miyagino 3-1 Miyagi Oguruma 3-1 > Kokuryunami Tatsunami 3-2 Daitenshin Onomatsu 2-3 Hattori Kataonami 1-3 Kiryuko Tatsunami 1-0-3 Daitensho Oitekaze 1-4 Shunrai Tatsunami 1-3 Byakuen Tatsunami 0-4 Sawadasho and Nobehara were the class acts of this bunch, neither really got out of first gear for their 3-0 scores. Muscular Miyagi is also quite handy, and even had a rapid tsutaezori (or some sort of zori-te anyway) in his opening session win against Shunrai. Mukainakano's left ankle is heavily strapped but I guess it's a precaution against an old injury, as I didn't see any indication that it was bothering him. He looked solid in his wins, but sadly has not taken the shikona Burokumaru. Kiryuko (Sakamoto the Elder) fought in the opening session but took no further part for some reason. Hard to judge after only one bout, but he heaved Mukainakano over with a big shitatenage. His younger brother Shunrai showed little promise in the first three sessions (admittedly against much better opposition), only to burst into life at the end with a blistering tsukidashi win over Daitensho. Wafer-thin Byakuen was completely outclassed but at least tried and looked like he was enjoying himself; I daresay even he will beat Shonanzakura. 1

I don't like the thought of him potentially squaring off against Kagamio in July.

Seiyashi 4,109 Posted May 16, 2021 On 10/04/2021 at 19:48, Akinomaki said: At the press conference of Mukainakano (178cm, 175kg), as heya representatives, his likely future okamisan, the wife of Hakuho, and Ishiura were present Interestingly, footage of Mukainakano during today's shinjoshusse hiroshiki shows him wearing a keshomawashi of Ishiura's rather than Hakuho's. Combined with Ishiura's appearance at Tottori Johoku during his recruitment press conference, and the Tottori Johoku connection, is there something to suggest that he's Ishiura's rather than Hakuho's deshi? In short, have previous known deshi of Hakuho debuted wearing his keshomawashi - therefore lending some import to the fact that Mukainakano is not wearing one of Hakuho's, and has yet to adopt the -ho suffix of Hakuho's deshi?
