Wakaikari passes Kotokenryu

I had taken zero notice of Wakaikari until now, but it seems like he's worth paying attention to, even if he is a smaller guy

It looks like I made a mistake in the details.  Wakaikari didn't actually pass Kotokenryu but showed up on the list for another reason.  I've changed the details there.

Reaching the extended Ms promotion zone at 18 and after only 5 basho starting in Jk is impressive!

The yokozuna happens to also be the only rikishi on the exclusive list "Rikishi above everyone else on the banzuke"

Jd72w Uzumasa 29.10.2008
Jk7e Daishisho 14.01.2009
Jk16w Kikuchi 03.02.2009

Kotozakura passes Hoshoryu

Otsuji passes Wakaikari

Tanji falls past Anosho and Shunrai

Rinko passes Takaarashi.

Hayashiryu falls past Takaarashi

Kiyonoyama passes Keiga

Kotohanashiro passes Yumenofuji

Tsurugifuji and Uzumasa pass Daibasho and Takeuchi.  The two former rikishi have the same lifetime records, and so they both show up on the list only because somehow the older one (and their age difference is only 3 days) got precedent in the rankings.  Maybe it has something to do with the exact order or their wins in Mz, but I would think in that case Uzumasa would get the pass because he won his first match, so it's probably just random.

Kikuchi enters the banzuke as the new youngest rikishi.

Rikishi older than everyone above them on the banzuke, Nagoya 2024:

Y1e Terunofuji 29.11.1991
M3e Takayasu 28.02.1990
M7w Sadanoumi 11.05.1987
M9w Tamawashi 16.11.1984
Sd27e Dairaido 17.04.1980
Jd16e Shoketsu 05.09.1976

Sadanoumi re-establishes himself above Tamawashi for the first time since Kyushu, but as he is younger than Myogiryu he didn't make the list then. Prior to that you'd have to go back to 2016, meaning this is certainly Sadanoumi's first visit to the list.

Rikishi older than everyone above them on the banzuke, Kyushu 2024:

Y1e Terunofuji 29.11.1991
K1w Shodai 05.11.1991
M6w Nishikigi 25.08.1990

Sd55e Dairaido 17.04.1980
Jd4e Yoshiazuma 26.05.1977
Jd14e Shoketsu 05.09.1976

Takayasu returns after one absence and Takarafuji somewhat surprisingly makes his first visit to this list. Nishikigi returns after some time, as does Hagane and Yoshiazuma.

Thus we have the longest list I can recall - 10 rikishi!
