Yeah I will be more mindful in future. I was basically just thinking 'aloud' in sort of lay terms. My bad!

Pandaazuma Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) Just glancing at the Salarycap lists, only one person (the Prof!!) has Tamawashi and eleven have Takakeisho somewhere in their lists. Not many yusho/Jun yusho bonuses going around this time then. Not impossible of course that Takakeisho might lose...if Goeido gets his belt he will be done for. In that case, we could be seeing a few more jun yusho. Edited January 26, 2019 by Pandaazuma

Sorry, I was just confused. When I see people say something like 60% chance of winning I always think it terms of odds, not that there is 100% to distribute. So when I saw his list I see " 2 people slightly favored, 2 even money and 3 disfavored." So in terms of odds only the last two would be long shots and even at that I don't think it's very long. Everyone else would be long shots. I always think of these as in "against the entire field" too, not just the list of favorites. Edited January 26, 2019 by Rocks

Rocks Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Speaking of Oracle, Day 15 is my favorite for that game because you can compare your lineup to the torikumi and see how it can hurt or help you. How many matches are there which no matter who wins will cost me a point? How many matches are gain or lose a point based on the winner? How many matches are gaining me a point no matter who wins? I guess if you did that for everyone near the top you could actually see who has a real shot or who is in big trouble because they have too many "no win" matches. At the very least it makes watching some matches, which in most cases I wouldn't care too much about, more interesting.
Rocks Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 (edited) Well, in Oracle, it looks like I have 10 matches I will lose a point no matter who wins and 8 matches I will gain a point no matter who wins giving me a net -2. 556-2 means I start the night with 554. There are 12 matches I can either gain a point or 11 (thanks to makushita crossover) I can lose a point depending on the winner. So I can score anywhere from 543 to 566. Needless to say I will be rooting for Takayasu, Myougiryu, Aoiyama, Ryuden, Asanoyama, Azumryu, Daishoho, Tobizaru, Tokoshoryu, Wakatakakage, Mitoryu and Sokokurai. Edited January 27, 2019 by Rocks 1

Rocks Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 @chishafuwaku Out of Likes or you would get one. We have a lot of overlap so things will have to fall just right for me to catch you. I don't like my odds. I didn't go through DeRosa's completely but I think things will have to fall just right for him to hold.
Rocks Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 (edited) @chishafuwaku Well, you got all you could out of Juryo, 7 points. I lost one so I only got 5. So 566 to 559 after Juryo. I can't catch you even if things fall right in makuuchi. Oh well. Maybe I can still get the Jun-yusho. Edited January 27, 2019 by Rocks

DeRosa is plus 3 out of Juryo with 1st makuuchi match but that isn't exact. He has a bigger downside in makuuchi I think. Went further. Still not exact but I think the best Derosa can do is 565 and that is if everything falls right. It's going to be close at the top. Edited January 27, 2019 by Rocks
