Kachikoshi. Beat 180 kilo Teraoshou by  hearty sukuinage.  "I stopped in the middle there- I wonder why.." he said, after stopping in the middle there, regaining his breath, and throwing his opponent.

The official kimarite-decider must have fallen asleep.

No, the oshitaoshi decision was made by One and Only himself. I was just echoing his sentiments.

5-0.He beat 16 year old Daiyuushou . This time it took him a while, as his 1.73 meter/111 kilo opponent was quite feisty. After 5, 8, 7, and 14 seconds bouts, today it took him 35 seconds. "It's been a while since i had a long bout, even in training. My feet did not follow and my opponent was all over the place," he said. It looked more like a butsugari session, with Terunofuji lending his chest to his opponent's attacks. Finally, hatakikomi, although it looks like oshidashi in the photo... Video soon, probably. It looks like his main opponent for the yusho is Mongolian Roga, as yet undefeated in sumo after 12 bouts. His next opponent should be Shimomura (1.78/116) in his second career basho or maybe Wakayamanaka , a Jonidan regular for 8 years having his best basho ever..

I really have high hopes for the guy, but i cant seem to think that he has that much of a chance to come back anywhere near his former self...

The little kid was begging to lose and Teruno couldn't finish him for a long time.  It's like watching a different rikishi, no sign of his former self.

He showed no clue of his insane grip power and just waited the kid to make a mistake. Probably he needs to loose some weight. Will we ever see him at his full power again? (Scratchingchin...)

No, we won't.

It has to be a psychologial strike of great proportions.

May i Wonder, does he has to "serve" the maegashiras in his stable now that he has been demoted? That could motivate him, but maybe it could also throw him into a deep depression, seeing him relegated to no mans land...

Sad Story indeed, i hope he can earn some money again, at least in Juryo...

I don't know for sure but I think it's a big enough heya that there would be enough other low ranking rikishi to serve as tsukebito and spare him from that.

I think you are right, but just to play devil's advocate a little bit, I think this bout was also a classic example of a much smaller rikishi doing everything to avoid mawashi sumo. I think Teru was right to be cautious here.

7-0 and yusho playoff against new Mongolian and yet unbeaten in sumo 20 years old Rouga on senshuraku.

Who (or is it whom) do you think will win?
