Dapeng Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Right biceps ruptured at somewhere near the elbow. May need more than 3 weeks' treatment, depending on how it's treated. Seems his master is advising surgery.
Jakusotsu Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Now when Endo was finally about to get a foothold in Sanyaku. The poor lad just can't get any break. On the other hand, some wise man once said being talented implies physical resilience as well.
Jabbamaru Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Every rikishi should be careful against This 1/5 ton Ichinojo, If you put to much power on the bout you have a big chance to get injury S*...that weight is dangerous even to Ichi himself...
Yubinhaad Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Nozeki - Kyodo reports that Goeido went to hospital after yesterday's bout due to chronic ankle pain. The shisho had suggested withdrawing as early as Day 3 but Goeido was determined to try and continue. Ichinojo will get a free win on Day 9. 3

maorencze Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 No info on Hokutofuji yet? With that level of concussion, he's done for a couple weeks I'd say.

Nothing on the NSK site. Next opportunity for that is in the pre-match period on Wednesday - usually going up on the NSK site about 11am JST (give or take an hour or so, depending on when decisions are made and submitted)
Jyuunomori Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I hope Terunofuji loses. Get out of Sekitori...and rest. Rest for a Year. He needs to rest guys.

He had several opportunities to take advantage of kadoban for a 6 month rest while he was an ozeki. He refused to do it. I find it hard to sympathize with him. 4 1

We've had many rikishi come back the next day after something similar. He'll be back tomorrow. None of us know "the level" of concussion. He was chatting with reporters about ten minutes after the incident, said the TV announcer.

Ahogeyama Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Hokutofuji officially kyujo'd. Believe it is listed as a cervical disc hernia and a right quadriceps injury. 1

I can only assume that if it was a concussion then they would have to admit there wasn't enough governance yesterday. And they are not lying just declaring injuries worsened during the basho.
