Speaking of Master points. In ISP basically everyone at 11-4 divides up the points for 4th-10th right?

No...every player who got 11-4 gets an equal share of 29 points. So...those in positions 4-27.

If I had such a pre-basho performance at the best of my times, I would have called that a decent performance, and not a washout. Then again, you are currently on such an outlandish level of sumo gaming that such a haul probaby looks like a total disaster to you ;)

I know what you are saying of course but I see things differently - I don't judge my performance so much on records as much as I do getting the right lads in the right order - my own personal criteria. My main picks were Mitakeumi, Ichinojo, Takakeisho, Hokutofuji, Yoshikaze and Okinoumi. I also punted on Goeido for the yusho, given the very gloomy pre-basho reports on the other viable contenders. Apart from Ichinojo, they underperformed badly. I also completely ignored or greatly skewed downwards the importance of Kakuryu (unless there was no choice) Ikioi, Kaisei and Takayasu...and left Tochinoshin out of some games too. In other words, I got it badly wrong. I generally ended up mid-table, which is fine, but that is a much lower priority for me than getting the field right in the first place.

Speaking of ISP it seems I came 3rd, only missing out on the Yusho on tie-breakers. I just assumed it would be terrible, because mostly I did badly in the Masters games. I guess I should learn to check these things.
