Shomishuu Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Being a statesider, I know ESPN and ESPN2, but what/where/how is ESPNi?? (Laughing...)
Zentoryu Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Being a statesider, I know ESPN and ESPN2, but what/where/how is ESPNi?? (Laughing...) ESPNi is ESPN-international, which isn't available in the states.
Shomishuu Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 (edited) Not surprised to discover that (apparently) ESPN would not provide stateside coverage since it sounds like a more in depth look at sumo than what they do have from time to time...which is usually nothing more than 5-10 minutes of chatter about how much they guys weigh and how much they eat, etc. It kind of dovetails with something I've discovered since I joined the forum a week or so ago; and that is that when it comes to sumo fans outside of Japan, Americans like myself are definitely in the minority. I'm very impressed with the depth and scope of the commentary by English speaking fans from countries where English is not the primary language. I can see there is much to learn. Looking to get my hinny (hai-ni) kicked in my first games coming up next month!! (Laughing...) Edited August 19, 2004 by Shomishuu
