I might be able to have a friend in Japan get one for you.  Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for the offer! I appreciate it. But in reality, I can't, I've got way too much stuff in my house already and I should be looking to get rid of some things rather than the other way around...

I can definitely relate to your situation.  That applies to me, too!

I thought this little "Tea Pet" was interesting.  A strange combination of a sumo wrestler with a peach head.  He looks amazingly like Takarafuji!!  (AFTER YOU CLICK ON THE LINK, YOU HAVE TO SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE "TEA PET").   https://www.etsy.com/listing/943434055/tea-pet-tibet-chinese-zisha-yixing?ref=landingpage_similar_listing_bot-3&frs=1

The picture banzuke for Hatsu 2022

new on sale: tapestry

Do you know what they mean by selling tapestry?  Are they selling life-size versions of kesho-mawashi?  Or maybe miniature versions?  Does it indicate how much they cost?  My friend will be at the basho on shonichi and always offers to buy me whatever I would like (I pay him back).  I would be interested in knowing more about these tapestries.

The "tapestry" is probably better described as a wall scroll, by the looks of the "in place" image at the bottom left of the flyer. It's 215x50cm, is reversible (one side might be B&W with the larger rikishi partially obscuring their highest rank, the other in colour with the rikishi smaller in size below their unobscured rank, although there might be variants with one image only). Designs, subject to availability (by basho it seems) are Meisei, Daieisho, Okinoumi, Myogiryu and Terutsuyoshi, and it goes for 11k yen before tax.

Info in parentheses are stuff I'm not very sure about myself, either because my Japanese isn't great or because it's not explicitly stated by the flyer, so take those with a pinch of salt.

You know, on relooking this, I at first thought this was a book, and then wondered how cool it would be to have a book compilation of all the printed banzuke sheets over the years, like an almanac. Impractical to update, sure, but wow.
