dada78641 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I found a video here of the press conference. Not terrific quality but it's the full broadcast. Going to guess this will be taken down at some point... 1
whtbox Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Thank you really enjoyed those photos. Pity I don't understand Japanese and would love to understand his Interview.
Morty Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 That was brilliant looking at all those old black and white photos. really interesting how much less weight those guys carried compared to today
Sprech4 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Thank you for the photos - I'm still not used to seeing Kisenosato smile this much! He's so serious, I keep forgetting he can do that.
Philioyamfugi Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Yeah...for the 72nd yokozuna Kisenosanto ...whoop...whhooooo ...whoooo .. I watched the whole interview too.. Gonna be a while until I can pick up some Japanese.

And the dohyo roof being supported by pillars rather than suspended. Why no one ever brained themselves on those things I don't know. Edited January 26, 2017 by Kuroyama

Manekineko Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Wow the picture flood. I don't remember seeing such shot-by-shot coverage of the dohyo-iri before, you can practically make a movie out of them. Well, I guess it's no wonder.
Naganoyama Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Do you suppose that he is getting any keiko in at all with all this circus he is having to perform in?

There is a reason why yokozuna tend to not do that well in their debut tournament..... although his mentor Takanosato was the first since Futabayama to zensho-yusho in his first, so you never know.
