Asojima Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) Day 4 - An announcement that appeared on qq seems to indicate that they will be providing live streaming of all divisions for every day of the basho. Based on what we saw yesterday, this will be the NHK B Channel coverage. If it occurs, the matches can be relatively easy to identify and track using Naganoyama's handy dandy daily Lower Division Torikumi posts. We should know more about this in about 4 hours. Fingers crossed. Update: Nothing showing yet at 09:30 JST. A second look at the announcement revealed that it is prefixed by "each afternoon" rather than "each morning". Jk, Jd, and possibly early Sd may be skippped. On Day 3, I stumbled onto it at about 1:30PM. Still checking periodically. Update: As of 2:00PM, there is no sign of the NHK B coverage on qq. It looks like Day 3 was fluke, and I overinterpreted the announcement they put up today. As I said earlier, things can get pretty flaky on this site. Edited January 11, 2017 by Asojima

That they were able to show that in the first place on day 3 likely is because this basho sumo is no longer on the 2nd channel of BS 1, but the main one. The qq people with that announcement may have thought all divisions is when they stream all of NHK, but NHK never shows all divisions, they start later in sandanme at best. Still there is hope for more of the early BS broadcasts on qq this basho.

I hope he's aware he's streaming and doesn't open anything... that would violate Vaughn's TOS.
Asojima Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) We have seen vaughn in this mode before. Unfortunately, they seem to be very slow at recovering from it. We may have to rely on qq and UBS for today's matches. So far, the problem seems to be limited to Sherming 9. The other Vaughn sites are running normally. Edited January 12, 2017 by Asojima

Update: At 2:20PM JST, picking up heavy pixelating and freezing on Sherming 9. Video has become unusable. qq up with sumo stream at 02:45PM JST, quality good. First matches in Juryo.
