The higher they are ranked the more points you can collect. A win in Makushita doesn‘t bring you any point while wins vs. Yokozuna or Ozeki are worth 14 resp. 12 points. I assume you spent 2019 all 6 Basho in Makushita, that’s why you are not on this list. Only wins vs. Sekitori (Makuuchi and Juryo) are counted. Alles klar? Ganzohnesushi And (unlike the early days) the points are only given if you are ranked in one of the top two divisions. So a Makushita player defeating a Juryo player gets zero points.

Jejima (BS rijicho) ************* Venerable Rijicho Jejima The BSYDC have met and debated Flohru's first Basho as Yokozuna. It is understandable that standing in such a lofty position, can lead to the odd jittering of nerves the first time you are up there. Though Flohru's record this Basho was not exactly what is expected of a Yokozuna, we do understand that he needs time to settle into his role. Currently we feel that, and as no Yokozuna in the Live Sumo would be asked to retire after one poor performance. We will be give Flohru the chance to give his best for the first Basho of 2020. We offer Flohru our encouragement and support. We look forward to seeing how the new season of Sumo turns out for everyone, and how a new perspective on the game can improve for Flohru's chances. It was crafted by Jejima, Flohru and Kaiomitsuki (watched over by Kintamayama, Asashosakari and Ekigozan). This one was difficult to sort out, and there are LOTS of bad luck and good luck this time around. Keep your fingers crossed that you are a 'lucky' one - but be prepared for bad luck too. Here you go. I believe that we will have our first career Yen billionaire* after this coming basho - and maybe two of them! It is an interesting list. Four of the top ten are currently banzuke-gai. I have only listed the top 100 (that took long enough!). I notice that rank is very important. Jejima has taken part in every basho, and yet is not in the top ten - due to a career that has been over 50% in Juryo. Sherlockiama - the real veteran of Juryo - only just makes the top 100. Long time players Nekonishiki and Marushiki do not quite make the top 100, due to being ranked outside of the top two divisions too often.
