I lived on Yokota AB in Japan from July 1974 - July 1977. I watched sumo on TV all the time and went to the Kurumae Kokugikan a few times. I remember Kitanoumi, Wajima, Takanohana, Kaiketsu and of course Takamiyama. After returning to the USA, I lost interest in sumo. In March 2014, I read on Wikipedia Kakuryu's promotion to Yokozuna. I clicked on the link and discovered the forum. After lurking for over two years I finally joined. My thanks to all who administer and contribute. My favorites are Hakuho, Ikioi and Ichinojo. I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Thank you. Bumpkin.

Welcome!!!  I lived on Yokota from 75-78.(and again from 07-10)  Depending on your age, we may have met back then.
