Jejima Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Following this thread we have selected M2W Takarafuji to be the 'target' for this basho's 'Guess Kisenosato's Aite'.
Jejima Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Announcing the July 2016 edition of Guess Kisenosato's Aite.... But for M2W Takarafuji....All you have to do is guess M2W Takarafuji's opponent each day, before the torikumi comes out. If you guess correctly, you get a shiroboshi. This is surprisingly more fun (or frustrating) and challenging than it should be. It also gets you to think a bit more about the 'inner-workings' of sumo. Here is the current banzuke:- Jakusotsu (Y1E 9-6) Y1 chishafuwaku (O2W 11-3-1) O1 Kuroimori (O1W 10-5) O2 Andonishiki (O1E 8-7) Gurowake (S1W 12-3) S1 Tenshinhan (S1E 8-7) orandashoho (K1E 10-5) S2 Profomisakari (S2W 7-8) K1 Kaiomitsuki (K1W 7-8) Jejima (S2E 6-9) M1 Ryoshishokunin (M1W 7-8) Gernobono (M1E 6-9) M2 shimodahito (M2W 6-9) PhorCillic (M2E 5-3-7) M3 McBugger (M4E 3-7-5) The Kyokai (M3W 2-13) M4 Comments: Jakusotsu fell just below the OQ line this basho. But, he is encouraged to do better in July. chishafuwaku's 11-3-1 Jun-Yusho would have been enough to win either the yusho, or at the very least, force a place-off in any previous GKA basho. For this reason, he will be considered for promotion to Yokozuna if he claims the yusho in July. Gurowake will be considered for promotion to Ozeki with a yusho or good jun-yusho in July. The rules are as follows:-1. Guess M2W Takarafuji's opponents on each day of the basho.2. Entries need to be in before 11:30 am Japan time on the previous day, except for the days 1 and 2 entries which need to be in before 11:30 am Japan time on the Friday prior to the start of the basho. If it turns out that the daily toriukumi is printed before these times, then any entry proved to have come afterwards is not allowed for that day (so enter early to be safe).3. Tie-breakers to decide the Yusho.... We look at the result of the day 15 prediction, then day 14, and so on back to day 1. If still a tie, then the highest ranked on the banzuke can claim the Yusho.4. If Takarafuji goes kyujo during the basho, we switch to M2E Okinoumi (M3E Osunaarashi, then M3W Myogiryu kept further in reserve, if needed due to a mass spate of kyujos) for the days after his fusensho loss (I.e. we can still guess who gets the freebie). For the immediate day afterwards, (unless it is known very soon after the event), everyone will get a 'kyujo'.5. Players that are leading the Yusho race (especially in the final few days of the basho), are requested / expected to get their picks in very early (before all the other players, if possible) - in order to avoid suspicions of 'tactical picking'.Special prizes (many thanks to Yaochoyama):1. Outstanding performance (shukun-sho) - the one who correctly picks the aite the most consecutive days. You have to have a minimum of three to win this prize.2. Fighting spirit (kanto-sho) - the one who limits their incorrect aite picks to the shortest number of consecutive days (literally the one whose longest losing streak is the shortest). Any losing streak of 5 or more days would disqualify you from this prize.3. Technique (gino-sho) - the one who is best at making correct picks when no one, or hardly anyone else does. A point system is used as follows and you need at least 3 points to claim this prize:3 points if you're the only win to make the correct pick2 points if you're one of two to make the correct pick1 point if you're one of three to make the correct pickNew players (Order, order!) are cordially invited to this game - it is an official second league © game!
Ryoshishokunin Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I may have to go kyujo for some of the basho--I'm moving from Japan next week. 1. Goeido 2. Tochinoshin
Gernobono Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 day 1 goeido day 2 tochinoshin and thank you for choosing an isegahama-rikishi
Andonishiki Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) The first torikumi is out - the Kyokai followed the 'usual' pattern - but the Isegahama pile-up in sanyaku allowed a few varation possibilities, this might be the reason for the relatively high dispersion of results after day 2.... We have FOURTEEN active gamers, that's BERRI NAISU, plus Jejima on a well deserved summer kosho.SIX contestants got both days correct, FIVE had one pick right. Statistics - 28 picks, 17 correct -> 60.7%; let's keep this up !2-0: Ryoshishokunin, orandasho, Profomisakari, andonishiki, gernobono, kuroimori 1-1: Gurowake, Jakusotsu, Tenshinhan, PhorCillic, Kaiomitsuki0-2: shimodahito, chishafuwaku, McBugger, THE KYOKAI kosho : Jejima Takarafuji's Aite-tachi: 1. Goeido (O1e), 2. Tochinoshin (Sw) Edited July 8, 2016 by Andonishiki
